Job Description
HII is looking for a strategic communications lead to support AFRL/IZO. The communications lead directs, plans and organizes internal and external technical directorate related functions, symposiums, conferences, program events, banquets, and VIP briefings. Develops on-site and off-site plans and budgets. Investigates, coordinates, arranges and contracts for major hotel accommodations and services, charter air and ground transportation, communications and facilities support, client and guest entertainment, passport and VISA clearances, program functions, and similar activities to support company marketing and customer relations. Directs multiple service contractors and subcontractors orchestrating large scale events supporting highest level company executives, international dignitaries and government officials.
This effort will help AFRL IZO leadership with strategic planning of resources and tasking to support other AFRL IZO deliveries to other technical directorates.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Shall develop and implement strategic communication plans aligned with Department of the Air Force (DAF), Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), and Digital Capabilities Directorate (DCD) goals and objectives.
- Shall conduct stakeholder analyses to identify key audiences and tailor communication strategies.
- Shall develop and maintain communication and style guidelines.
- Shall prepare executive-level communications, including presentations, talking points, briefing materials, and reports.
- Shall manage and coordinate communication initiatives across various channels.
- Shall develop and manage internal DCD communications programs to foster employee engagement and alignment.
- Shall collaborate with other DCD teams to ensure consistent messaging.
- Shall conduct research and analysis to support communication initiatives, including identification of best practices and tools for strategic outreach.
- Shall coordinate and manage strategic events, to include:
- Identifying candidate venues based on event requirements.
- Developing event agenda(s) with government concurrence.
- Identifying and coordinating event speakers.
- Administering online and onsite registration.
- Supporting the development, collection, and organization of all event materials.
- Coordinating material shipping to the event location, as applicable.
- Tracking, organizing, and reporting action items.
- Facilitating other day-of activities.
- The contractor shall manage the AFRL/IZO sponsored Digital Dialogues, to include:
- Identifying in-demand digital topics.
- Managing a content calendar of planned Digital Dialogues and socializing the schedule with DCD leadership.
- Identifying and coordinating guest speakers.
- Actively and professionally facilitating the Digital Dialogues.
- Recording the sessions and updating the Digital Dialogue library.
- Executing post-event tasks to include tracking and reporting key Digital Dialogue metrics, such as attendee lists.
- Collecting, analyzing, and reporting participant feedback.
- Shall assist with the execution of programmatic deliverables, to include analyzing and reporting on documentation, program effectiveness, providing key metrics and recommendations for improvement
Minimum Qualifications
6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
- Must be proficient in using the Microsoft Office Suite and related tools, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Must possess an active Secret or can obtain a Secret clearance
