Job Description
Huntington Ingalls Industries, Mission Technologies (HII-MT) is seeking a technically minded, inquisitive candidate to lead a select team investigating the security of complex systems. Demonstrated expertise leading multidisciplinary teams of engineers and technical professionals. The ideal candidate has a strong multi-disciplinary foundation in digital and analog system architecture or design, and excels at decomposing complex systems and protocols to understand how they work. Must be a skilled collaborator with industry partners. Duties will include evaluation and vulnerability assessments of existing systems and designs to include system architecture evaluation, protocol analysis, hardware and/or software vulnerability discovery, and documentation of findings or recommendations.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Leads a team to design and develop new systems, applications, and solutions for external customer's enterprise-wide cyber systems and networks. Ensures system security needs established and maintained for operations development, security requirements definition, security risk assessment, systems analysis, systems design, security test and evaluation, certification and accreditation, systems hardening, vulnerability testing and scanning, incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning and provides analytical support for security policy development and analysis. Integrates new architectural features into existing infrastructures, designs cyber security architectural artifacts, provides architectural analysis of cyber security features and relates existing system to future needs and trends, embeds advanced forensic tools and techniques for attack reconstruction, provides engineering recommendations, and resolves integration and testing issues. May interface with external entities including law enforcement, intelligence and other government organizations and agencies.
Minimum Qualifications
- 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
- BS in Computer Engineering, or a BS in Electrical Engineering with strong software background (C/C++)
- Hardware and software debugging experience
- Minimum Top Secret clearance required to start
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI w/ enhanced security checks
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with one or more assembly languages
- Proficient with at least one scripting language (Python, Perl, etc.)
- Hardware and /or software reverse engineering experience
- Strong understanding of computer architecture
- RF experience, preferably related to radar and/or EW
- Experience using standard lab equipment such as:
- Network analyzer
- Spectrum analyzer
- Signal generator
- Logic analyzer
- Oscilloscope
- Experience using Linux
- Qt or similar event driven UI development experience
Physical Requirements
May require working in an office, industrial, or laboratory environment.
