Job Description

HII is looking for an Administrative Generalist to provide support for the Air Force Research Laboratories (AFRL) CIO and AFRL/DCD Division Chief. This work environment does support a hybrid role with the majority of the work conducted at Wright Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) in Dayton, Ohio. Some travel may occur in support of AFRL directorates headquartered at other bases.

This position requires a person who is extremely proactive, very energetic, with a strong positive attitude and a very detail-oriented nature. This person must have USAF/DoD experience with a working knowledge of how things get accomplished in this environment. This is in support of a fast-paced office in the quickly adapting world of AFRL.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the Division Chief's calendar, arranging meetings and conferences, and receiving, referring, or answering mail.
  • Handling travel arrangements via Defense Travel System.
  • Review, glean, and summarize correspondence and presentation to brief supervisor of upcoming meetings.
  • Performs normal office functions such as setting up and maintaining files, interviewing callers, and making proper referrals.
  • Prepare program documentation using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • May be required to learn to use other commercial or specialized computer applications in the performance of their assigned tasks.
  • Support set-up, execution, and clean-up of electronic and face-to-face meetings.
  • Reviews drafted and finished documents for appropriate grammatical usage; answers questions relating to office operations and established policies and procedures.
  • Gathers, compiles, and reports on information relevant to supervisors’ assignment. May take and transcribe notes from meetings and presentations.
  • Ability to plan and organize in a complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Results-oriented, self-motivated, team player, positive attitude and enthusiastic
  • Experience working within government environment including finance, contracts, and travel.

Minimum Qualifications

6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.

*Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain a clearance

Preferred Requirements

  • Security Clearance - A National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) or the ability to obtain one, is required. All candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. 
  • Previous experience working with USAF or other DoD agencies is desired.
  • Superb communication skills and strong public speaking skills.
  • Must be able to work on site at WPAFB, Dayton, OH at least 3 days per week.
