Job Description
Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Mission Technologies Warfare Systems partners with the DoD and defense innovation ecosystem to rapidly acquire and field critical and emerging technologies, particularly integrated communications, networking, and Systems-of-Systems (SoS) technologies, to enhance national security and warfighter capabilities. Through a multiagency contracting approach, the Collaborative Operations for Battlespace Resilient Architecture (COBRA) initiative focuses on advancing these technologies to achieve multi-domain battlespace integration and resilient command and control. This includes a broad range of services such as systems engineering, cybersecurity, operational integration, and data analytics, all aimed at modernizing communications and ensuring seamless information exchange for the DoD and its allies.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Develops RMF plans, conducts risk assessments, and ensures compliance and continuous monitoring of policies based on Government regulations. Collaborates with RMF tools such as Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) and Army Portfolio Management System (APMS), following the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA). Integrates with Security Requirements Guide (SRG) and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) development teams to include emerging technologies in the STIG roadmap process. Conducts onsite visits and surveys to address security compliance and technical analysis, producing comprehensive reports and recommendations for improvements and enhancements. Identifies risk areas through implementation shortfalls and develops plans to recommend policy updates, addressing widespread issues and exceptions to policy. Participates in working groups, forums, and direct interactions to gather information for research and analysis in support of RMF and continuous monitoring. Standardizes forms and integrates with continuous Authorization to Operate (cATO) and RMF emerging technology efforts to reduce the burden on mission owners while maintaining security.
Minimum Qualifications
- 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
- Must possess an active Secret clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Effective oral and written communication abilities
Preferred Requirements
- Experience working in defense or intelligence environments
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Relevant certifications are a plus (e.g., Security+, PMP)
