Job Description
Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Mission Technologies Warfare Systems partners with the DoD and defense innovation ecosystem to rapidly acquire and field critical and emerging technologies, particularly integrated communications, networking, and Systems-of-Systems (SoS) technologies, to enhance national security and warfighter capabilities. Through a multiagency contracting approach, the Collaborative Operations for Battlespace Resilient Architecture (COBRA) initiative focuses on advancing these technologies to achieve multi-domain battlespace integration and resilient command and control. This includes a broad range of services such as systems engineering, cybersecurity, operational integration, and data analytics, all aimed at modernizing communications and ensuring seamless information exchange for the DoD and its allies.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Works with program leads to identify Risks and Opportunities, coordinate with program management to assess risks/opportunities, and implement appropriate risk and opportunity handling strategies. Responsible for developing and deploying Risk and Opportunity Management (R&OM) methods while interfacing with senior program and customer personnel to ensure clear communication of program R&OMs. Applies expertise in the identification of risks and the development of mitigation plans. Leads Risk Review Boards (RRB) for various teams, including program management, Integrated Product Teams, and customers. Responsible for managing the risks and opportunities within the risk register and through associated reporting mechanisms. Leads the Program Management Office (PMO) Performance Team and program quality management efforts and activities. Ensures development and maintenance of QC processes, procedures, and checklists. Ensures execution of formal reviews and audits to determine compliance with established performance standards and quality levels. Leads process improvement and root cause analysis/defect correction activities as required. Chairs and facilitates the monthly Quality Review Board (QRB). Ensures collection and maintenance of quality records. Generates quality reports of program activities and communicates recommendations. Monitors the corrective action process. Establishes and tracks key evaluation metrics. Identifies and implements quality approaches to ensure adherence to performance metrics.
Minimum Qualifications
- 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field
- Must possess an active Secret clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Effective oral and written communication abilities
Preferred Requirements
- Experience working in defense or intelligence environments
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Relevant certifications are a plus (e.g., Security+, PMP)
