Job Description

Mission Technologies (MT), a division of HII, is seeking to hire a Engineer to support operations at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL).  

 

This full-time position is on-site at NRL on the Maryland side of the Potomac near the southern-most part of  Washington DC.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Performs engineering functions in one or more of the following specialties: electronics, electrical, mechanical, civil, naval, and/or chemical.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 0 years experience with Bachelors in related field or five (5) years of demonstrated expertise in the field of pulsed power engineering 
  • Experience in fielding carrying out experiments on pulsed power generators, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and in carrying out analysis of the data 
  • Ability to coordinate with technicians in operation and maintanence of pulsed power systems 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US level Secret clearance 

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience in advanced electronic circuit analysis, transmission line code techniques, electric and magnetic field modeling 
  • Experience calibration of current and voltage probes
  • Experience in engineering-quality system design of pulsed power electrical and mechanical components 
  • Experience with pulsed power design techniques, data collection techniques, and interfacing data collection devices with various computers 
  • Experience developing design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test 
  • Experience communicating orally and in written reports and peer-reviewed publications
  • Has an active US level Secret clearance 

Physical Requirements

Office, industrial or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving of materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one man lift.
