This opportunity resides with Uncrewed Systems (UxS), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Uncrewed Systems comprises unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs), unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) and autonomy software.

Excellent opportunity to join an elite team in the development and testing of autonomous control software in Unmanned Systems. We are seeking talented people with computer programming skills to implement, test, and maintain software solutions written in C++. Working with the team and through individual efforts, you will be involved in the analysis and composition of requirements, design of architectural and component autonomy software features, design and implementation of the resulting software, design and implementation of test plans, and documentation of final product.
What you will be doing..
Internships are available to help students gain real-world experience in the work force. The intern will actively contribute to meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior leadership. Support the Engineering team with engineering functions in one or more of the following specialties: electronics, electrical, mechanical, civil, naval, and/or chemical. Assist with troubleshooting issues and provide technical support.
What we are looking for..
- High School Diploma or equivalent + Must be working towards a Bachelor's degree with more than 60% of the required credits completed.
- Must be located in commuteable distance to either Va Beach, VA or Pocasset, Mass office to work onsite. #LI-MH1
