Summary

We are seeking a Training Specialist with expertise in joint or service component operations and training events, including United States Marine Corps (USMC) processes and operations. Experience with wargaming simulation software is required.

Impact

In this role, you will directly support the design and execution of training and wargaming events that shape senior leader decision-making and inform future defense investments. Your work ensures that exercises are realistic, effective, and provide actionable insights to strengthen national security.

What you will do

  • Provide expertise in joint and service component operations, operational planning, and joint Command and Control (C2)
  • Manage the full Tabletop Exercise (TTX) lifecycle: Define, Scope, Design, Develop, Rehearse, Execute, and Assess
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate Senior Leader Seminars (SLS), workshops, and conferences
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to wargaming processes
  • Facilitate cross-functional teams of subject matter experts during live events
  • Lead After-Action Reviews (AAR) and provide analysis to capture lessons learned
  • Use constructive simulations to adjudicate outcomes for wargames
  • Prepare post-event reports and capture insights to inform analytic studies and live experiments
  • Deliver outcomes that help senior leadership make informed investment and readiness decisions

What you must have

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 6+ years of relevant experience
  • OR Master’s degree in a related field and 4+ years of relevant experience
  • OR High school diploma/equivalent and 10+ years of relevant experience

Professional Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in training, exercise planning, or related operational support
  • Experience designing, facilitating, or assessing military training events, exercises, or wargames, including the use of constructive simulation tools.
  • Strong ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing

Clearance

  • Must have a current of active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance
  • Must be a US citizen

Preferred Requirements

  • Familiarity with constructive simulation tools (e.g., JCATS, JSAF, or similar)
  • Proven ability to brief senior leaders and produce clear, actionable post‑event reports
  • Flexible, adaptable, and self‑motivated with strong problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work extended hours (12–14 per day) during wargaming events
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to balance multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) to create presentations, executive summaries, and planning documents for senior leaders

Physical Requirements

May require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders, standing for extended periods, and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
