Summary
HII’s Mission Technologies division is seeking a Field Service Representative to provide forward-deployed technical support for the REMUS 300 small-class Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV). The REMUS 300 is a two-person-portable platform with a 305-meter depth rating, up to 30 hours of endurance, and a modular open-architecture design supporting mine countermeasures, hydrographic survey, rapid environmental assessment, search and recovery, anti-submarine warfare, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions.
As a Field Service Representative, you will serve as the on-site subject matter expert for REMUS 300 operations, sustainment, maintenance, and operator training. You will deploy to fleet concentration areas, expeditionary environments, training exercises, and operational theaters both domestically and internationally to ensure mission readiness of fielded REMUS systems. This role requires up to 50% travel, including OCONUS deployments with naval units and at allied partner facilities.
What You Will Do
Operations & Mission Execution — Plan, configure, and execute REMUS 300 missions across the full spectrum of operational scenarios including mine countermeasures (MCM), rapid environmental assessment, search and recovery, and ISR. Conduct pre-mission vehicle preparation and launch and recovery operations from small boats, rigid-hull inflatables, pier-side, and shipboard platforms. Manage vehicle configurations from expeditionary (45 kg) through long-endurance (68 kg) setups based on mission requirements.
Sustainment & Maintenance — Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on REMUS 300 systems, including hull, propulsion, navigation, side-scan sonar, and power systems. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network faults to minimize vehicle downtime.
Training & Knowledge Transfer — Deliver comprehensive operator and maintainer training for U.S. Navy personnel in forward deployed locations. Provide hands-on instruction covering vehicle operation, two-person portable handling procedures, mission planning, launch and recovery, payload integration, and post-mission data analysis. Support Lionfish program training requirements as applicable.
Technical Documentation & Reporting — Maintain accurate vehicle configuration records, maintenance logs, and mission reports. Produce after-action reports following deployments and training events. Contribute to refinement of technical manuals, maintenance procedures, and training curricula.
Payload Integration — Support integration of payload modules and assist with reconfiguration between expeditionary and long-endurance setups and between mission types.
Customer Interface — Serve as the primary HII technical point of contact at customer sites. Build and maintain strong relationships with fleet operators, EOD units, MCM detachments, and program offices. Provide 24/7 technical support to deployed units as required.
