Job Description

Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is looking for a Mission Coordinator located at NAS Oceana in support of the Tactical Training Range (TTR) for the Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) contract. The candidate will work in close coordination with other team members and departments to Responsible for the collation and presentation of debrief products for aircraft operations within the tactical training range.  Supports planning and coordination for agencies participating in or supporting training operations on the range complex.  Complies with contract requirements and acts when necessary to correct deficiencies.  Coordinates user flight schedules/training requirements with tactical training range and warning area availability to ensure maximum utilization of tactical training facilities.  Communicates daily with aviation units, air control units, airspace/air traffic control agencies and other tactical training facilities to ensure coordination of necessary participants. Interprets data from Range Training Officers (RTOs) for the Computer Operators and ensures the live/L-16 Inject-to-Live (LITL) mission data is entered correctly.  Develops and presents briefings on capability, operation, and requirements to military and government agencies, to include VIP presentations.  Provides for equipment operator training for RTO and other on-site personnel in operation of display consoles.  Conducts equipment demonstrations for authorized personnel.  Performs RTO functions when user RTOs are not available.  Implements and administers effective, rapid, and comprehensive method of distributing mission scenarios and updates. Provides feedback on mission results such as Aircraft pod effectiveness.  Provides products for post-mission debriefings.  Solicits customer feedback and encourages completion of customer surveys. Additional duties include performing provide administrative leadership to assigned personnel, having various skills, to exercise full responsibility for all administrative, and coordination functions related to specific program elements to ensure that they met customer and user requirements and expectations in cost, quality, and schedule requirements. Individual must be able to work independently and work within a team. The position requires flexibility to work occasional non-standard work hours and work weeks of more than 40 hours to meet business, customer, and contractual requirements. 
 

Essential Job Responsibilities

Analyzes and provides recommendations on issues dealing with disciplines such as military command control and communications, electronic warfare, weapon systems, contingency operations, Military Tactics Techniques and Procedures (MTTP), force planning, and training exercises. Coordinates with user community representatives throughout all phases of development concerning requirements definition, clarification, prioritization, and alternatives.  Analyzes the conduct and results of operational user training, military maneuvers or simulated wartime operations undertaken to main the capabilities of a force. Compares, analyzes and evaluates the relative merits of program designs and alternatives. Applies emerging doctrine and tactics, whether detailed in formal doctrinal changes or emanating from Advanced Warfighting Experiments (AWEs), Advanced Technology Demonstrations (ATDs), or Force XXI activities, to system design and development.  Assesses the impact of programmatic and technical options on stated user requirements and doctrine.  Prepares reports and briefs summarizing support requirements, deficiencies, and investments for various programs and systems. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • US Citizen
  • Secret Clearance Required
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
     

Preferred Requirements

  • Prior Aviator/Air Traffic Controller/AIC familiar with F-18 Hornet Operations.
  • COMSEC experience preferred
  • Ability to read and digest technical information
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues within multiple systems
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong customer focus, the ability to manage customer needs and multiple work priorities
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills

Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
