Summary
HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer to support our Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program—a mission-critical initiative focused on delivering advanced defense systems to U.S. allies and global partners. This role blends technical precision with international collaboration, contributing to national security and global stability.
This is a full-time, in-office position based in Virginia Beach, VA, offering the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams and government partners in a collaborative and secure environment. #LI-MJ1

What you will do
- Deliver technical oversight for FMS projects from kickoff through deployment
- Support system architecture, integration, and documentation development
- Perform risk assessments, evaluations, and system performance analyses
- Collaborate with program managers, engineers, security specialists, and foreign military reps
- Ensure compliance with DoD acquisition, FMS, and export control regulations
- Oversee testing, validation, and verification of systems
- Interface directly with government customers, providing subject-matter and acquisition support
- Prepare and communicate technical documentation and stakeholder reports
What you must have
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience
- Master’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience
- Associate’s degree and 7 years of relevant experience
- PhD or Juris Doctorate in a related field with no additional experience required
- High school diploma/Equivalent and 9 years of relevant experience
Technical & Regulatory Knowledge
- Experience in full lifecycle systems engineering, to include some or all of the following; requirements & program analysis, system design, integration, testing, validation and/or deployment of complete defense or aerospace systems.
- Experience managing and/or supporting a government acquisition program
- Understanding of cybersecurity practices, risk management, and export control policies
Security Clearance
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Current or active DoD secret clearance required (must maintain throughout employment)
Preferred Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Knowledge of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) processes and international defense programs
- Experience working with foreign military organizations and defense system implementation
- Knowledge of combat systems, avionics, or other mission-critical defense technologies
- Strong analytical, communication, customer service and leadership skills
