This opportunity resides with Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Who We Are
HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineer at our Virginia Beach, VA location. This role will allow for relocation assistance to be provided to the selected candidate who does not reside within the state. You also must have an active Top-Secret clearance for this role.
The Systems Engineer will serve as the lead expert within the organization on network enhancements from both an infrastructure and hardware standpoint. This individual will work closely with the customer to provide experience-based technical expertise and recommendations.
This group helps provide technical expertise in support of 24/7/365 watch-standing duties. Your team members may troubleshoot system outages; correlate with various agencies to maximize circuit readiness and minimize downtime.
What You Will Do
Leading technician responsible for the upkeep, repair, and operation of program systems, equipment, and components. Essential Job Responsibilities Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Primary point of contact for any/all technical requirements at the mission site. Ensures system equipment is maintained in working order and coordinates with program leadership on all future installations and site requirements.
What We Are Looking For
- 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field: or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
- Must have a background in communications; fiber optics; electrical/electronic components; generators; AC/DC and high/low voltage theory and application.
- Must have excellent knowledge of the installation and maintenance of electrical/electronic components; Strong working knowledge of Key Management Infrastructure.
- Must be able to qualify driving machinery such as forklift, telehandler, scissor lift, mini front-end loader, and mini excavator.
Preferred: Bonus Points For...
- Background in Information Systems or Electronic Maintenance disciplines.
- Strong working knowledge in electrical and construction best practices, basic diesel generator maintenance and operation, power and hand tools use and operation.
- Selected candidate should be willing to learn on the job, solve problems outside the box, and take on new challenges.
