Who we are

HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a highly motivated and eager to learn Accountant with strong experience in financial accounting and reporting. The ideal candidate must have in-depth knowledge of GAAP, preparation and analysis of financial statements and inventory accounting. Experience with Deltek Costpoint is required. This can be a remote/hybrid role with a flexible schedule. This role will report to Manager of Financial Reporting, Revenue Recognition and SOX. As a team contributor, candidate will support month-end close, account reconciliations and internal/external financial reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Prepare consolidated fluctuation analysis comments.
  • Perform monthly Balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations across multiple entities and accounts.
  • Maintain and reconcile inventory accounting records, ensuring compliance with internal policies and GAAP.
  • Prepares analyses and other information to support the annual audit and quarterly reviews with internal and external auditors.
  • Supports the accurate, timely and complete submission of the division’s financial statements and schedules in support of SEC 10Q/10K filings.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and enhance reporting accuracy.
  • Ensure company with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Actively participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations. 

What you need to have:

  • 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; or 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
  • Hands-on experience with inventory accounting and costs reconciliation, including physical counts. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt style and messaging to effectively communicate with professionals at all levels.
  • Ability to multi-task while working independently and within a group environment.
  • Capable of working in a demanding, deadline driven environment with a focus on details and accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of excel and financial modeling used to perform analytical tasks.
  • Ability to assess problems and suggest/ implement potential solutions, with assistance and ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives.

Bonus points for:

  • Certified Public Accountant.
  • Experience with assisting on SEC 10Q/10K filings, disclosures and other reporting requirements.
  • System experience: Deltek Costpoint, ERP systems, SAP, Central Finance, or any cloud-based consolidation tool.
