This opportunity resides with Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Summary

HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a Research and Development Portfolio Manager who has a significant breadth of real world technical and operational experience in the C5ISR EW and RF realm. This will require a dynamic and forward-thinking individual to take things outside the sand box and make them work. The selected candidate will work in a high paced environment with a motivated team looking for moderate direction and leadership from the operational environment. Must be familiar with C5ISR operational requirements. Understand C5ISR platforms, systems, sensors, and environments as well as the operational implementation of these systems. They should be experienced in listening and briefing customers on the companies’ capabilities and be able to connect operational needs to capabilities within HII to help resolve customer requirements. The focus will be in the C5ISR Systems and Sensors Hardware EW, radar, and sensors portfolio. This individual will work with Customers and HII Engineers and Scientist and C5ISR SME’s to design and build C5ISR Systems and Sensors Hardware to meet current customer needs, identify, contact and cultivate new customers as well as managing the System and Sensors Hardware sensors Portfolio.

What You Will Do

  • Design and implement business processes to enable product research and development portfolio prioritization, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Design related integrated processes, product team activities, direct technical and operational activities to ensure vertical and horizontal integration.
  • Provide product portfolio analyses and reports to management committees for support of decision-making
  • Lead teams in strategy efforts, lifecycle management planning, and assessments of probability-of-success.
  • Develop systems to support dynamic portfolio management. Serves a key role in portfolio evaluation process.
  • Identify operational needs for EW, radar, and other sensor systems and translate requirements to an engineering team to capture new opportunities
  • Plan, organize and manage demonstration teams in the field that may have little to no operational experience. 
  • Clearly articulate and brief customers on HII capabilities, products, and government contract vehicles. 
  • Drive initiatives across functions, research, and development units to create fully integrated strategies.
  • Monitor and report on portfolio status and proactively addresses and resolves issues.

What We Are Looking For

  • 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
  • Experience with C5ISR Systems and Sensors with a focus on EW.
  • Ability to Travel  11-25% and have ability to function in field environments
  • Active DoD Secret lvl Clearance

Preferred: Bonus Points For

  • Working knowledge of DOD funding and financial calendar (i.e… Color of Money/PALM cycle)
  • Ability to Obtain DoD TS/SCI lvl Clearance
