Summary
Material Handler Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of material handlers to ensure timely, accurate, and safe movement of materials throughout the facility. This includes overseeing the receipt, storage, staging, and distribution of raw materials, WIP (work-in-progress), and finished goods to support production and shipping schedules. The supervisor ensures compliance with safety, inventory control, and operational procedures while meeting daily targets for efficiency and accuracy.
What You Will Do
- Understands Inventory Management and have accountability of all items.
- Tracks and maintains material through various programs such as Excel and other HII programs.
- Enters information into a computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock records, retrieve stored data, or respond to inquiries about inventory levels or delivery schedules.
- Oversees stockroom/warehouse operations.
- Hires and manages warehouse associates.
- Organizes and leads stockroom/warehouse trainings.
- Develops and improves stockroom/warehouse processes and procedures. Ensures the team follows company policies and procedures.
- Supervises packaging, receiving, and shipping activities.
- Assist in processing/monitoring shipping requests and work with various shipping companies to schedule and deliver shipments per program requirements.
- Completes packaging, receiving, and shipping tasks as needed per program requirements.
- Tracks in-bound and out-bound inventory and provides daily reports as needed to appropriate parties.
- Orders supplies and equipment for stockroom/warehouse.
- Collaborates with the stockroom team and other departments stakeholders.
- Escalates issues to managers and recommends potential solutions.
- Ensures the team follows company policies and procedures.
- Makes sure the team adheres to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety regulations.
- Receives and ships GFE utilizing DD1149 form.
- Logs and maintains records of all GFE utilizing eQuip database.
- Oversees facilitation of work orders being processed for production.
What We Are Looking For: Minimum Qualifications
- 4 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 2 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years relevant progressive experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Word, and Excel.
- Have a valid or possess the ability to obtain a forklift license.
- Complies with security procedures in the performance of duties.
- Ablity to obtain secret level clearance.
- A current valid driver's license.
