Summary
HII, Mission Technologies is looking for a motivated individual to fill the role of Material Handler for their Syracuse, NY Operations. The selected applicant will perform clerical and physical tasks in connection with receiving, stocking, kitting, packaging, and shipping goods of establishment in which employed.
The Material Handler must be able to follow established guidelines and procedures during the performance of day-to-day routine tasks and may direct and coordinate the activities of other workers engaged in handling material to be shipped or received.
What you will do
- Understand basic Inventory Management and have accountability of all items received.
- Track and maintain material through various programs such as Costpoint, EZ Office, Excel, and other HII programs.
- Receive deliveries as required.
- Maintain signed and completed DD Form 1149 and packing slip folder for Government Furnished Equipment and Customer Furnished Equipment.
- Prepare kitting packages for assembly production.
- Complies with security procedures in the performance of duties.
- Package shipments for delivery by program requirements
- Assist in processing/monitoring shipping requests and working with various shipping companies to schedule and deliver shipments per program requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Program Managers, Production Managers, Production Lead and co-workers is important.
- Be able to lift 50 LBS. and stand for an extended period.
What we are looking for (minimum requirements)
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.
- A current valid driver's license, with reliable transportation.
- Possess the ability to obtain a forklift license.
- Possess the ability to drive 24ft Box Truck.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Word, and Excel.
- Demonstrate willingness to accept responsibility and work unsupervised.
- Must be a US Citizen. May be required to obtain a DoD secret level clearance.
Physical Requirements
- May require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level. May encounter extremes of temperature, pollution, humidity, noise, and other environmental factors while collecting data, observing performance of task teams.
