Job Description
Join HII Mission Technologies as a Knowledge Management Specialist supporting our dynamic team at Shaw AFB, in Sumter, SC. In this role, you’ll architect and maintain information ecosystems across NIPRNET, SIPRNET, and JWICS. You’ll drive collaboration, streamline workflows, and empower staff with best-in-class knowledge sharing tools. Essential Job Responsibilities
- Execute knowledge and information management activities in accordance with the Knowledge Management Plan.
- Design, deploy, and administer SharePoint sites on NIPRNET, SIPRNET, and JWICS under the direction of the Chief of Staff.
- Develop and maintain document libraries, archives, dashboards, and deliberate information flows (email lists, TMT workflows).
- Provide training and user support to directorate personnel on SharePoint administration, access controls, and knowledge management principles.
- Serve as the Tactical Management Tool (TMT) augmentee—creating, routing, troubleshooting, and tracking tasks at the directorate level.
- Draft, update, and incorporate stakeholder inputs into the Knowledge Management Plan and Staff Officer Handbook.
- Collaborate with the Chief of Staff to develop multi-platform message dissemination strategies.
- Teach knowledge management best practices across the staff and continuously refine business rules.
Minimum Qualifications
0 years experience with Bachelors in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience.
- 3+ years managing task-management systems (e.g., TMT, JOPES, or equivalent) at a component command staff level or higher.
- 3+ years of hands-on SharePoint design, administration, and site management, including experience with military or secure environments.
- 2+ years of expertise with Microsoft Office 365 suite (Teams, OneDrive, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proven experience supporting knowledge management processes at a NAF or higher-level staff, including developing KM plans and training materials.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to develop user guides and training curricula.
- Certified Knowledge Manager (CKM) or equivalent certification.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance required.

Preferred Requirements
- ITIL Foundation certification or higher.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Library Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience working in DoD or defense-contracting environments, specifically at Shaw AFB or similar joint staff.
- Familiarity with JWICS operations, multi-domain networking, and secure information architectures.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Scrum Master certification.
Physical Requirements
May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
