Summary

The Software Engineer will support the JLVC Mod team in engineering and integrating new software solutions, tools, and capabilities for delivery to the Technical Team Branch (TTB). This role is key to developing, documenting, and delivering technical solutions that enhance the training and readiness of the Joint Force. The engineer will create and maintain training products, provide capability demonstrations, and plan integration activities. This role includes the development of technical roadmaps, support for hands-on training, and contribution to the planning and development of storylines, use cases, training objectives, and MSELs for exercises. The engineer must be able to bridge the gap between development and operational use of JLVC tools. This position will support the Joint Training Synthetic Environment (JTSE) Joint Staff J7(JS J-7) contract at our Suffolk, VA Joint Staff Complex.

Essential Job Responsibilities

•    Develop, package, and support delivery of new software solutions from the JLVC Mod team to the TTB.
•    Plan and execute technical integration strategies and timelines.
•    Create comprehensive training packages and user documentation.
•    Conduct live demonstrations of new capabilities for stakeholders.
•    Provide hands-on training to TTB personnel as needed.
•    Announce new capabilities with readiness timelines to TTB and exercise planners.
•    Assist in preparing materials and briefings for capability rollout.
•    Maintain and update the “How Do We Get There” product roadmap to track progress and align technical goals with operational timelines.
•    Plan and help develop use cases, storylines, training objectives, and MSELs (Master Scenario Events Lists) for exercises that incorporate new JLVC tools and solutions.

What You Must Have

•    5 years experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
•    DoD 8570 IAT Level II (e.g., Security+ CE)
•    Software deployment and lifecycle management
•    User and training documentation development
•    Demonstration and training delivery
•    Familiarity with Joint training environments, JLVC systems, or military exercise planning is highly desired.
•    Experience supporting capability rollouts and new technology adoption in technical or operational units.
•    Must have and be able to maintain a Secret Clearance

Preferred Requirements

•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•    Ability to work both in a team and individually.
•    Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail.
•    Self-motivated and driven desire to succeed with minimal direction.

Physical Requirements

Office, industrial, or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving materials may be required.
