Security and IT Event Support (Military Ops Analyst 2)

Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is seeking an experienced individual for Security and Event Support (Military Operations Analyst 2) assigned to Joint Staff J7 (JS J7), Joint Wargaming and Experimentation Division (JWED) at the Suffolk, VA Joint Staff Complex. This position supports planning, coordination, execution and assessment of security operations for designated events, visits, exercises and other mission activities for wargaming and experimentation. 

Responsibilities: I want to and can do that!

•    Support planning and security for events by analyzing mission requirements, operational environments, resource availability, timelines, and potential risks.
•    Develop and maintain planning products, including event support plans, synchronization matrices, battle rhythm products, decision-support tools, task trackers, risk registers, and operational timelines.
•    Experience working in classified environments, managing and safeguarding classified materials, including receiving, controlling, storing, transmitting, packaging, and destruction per government regulation requirements.
•    Ability to coordinate across military, government, industry and partner organizations to support integrated security planning and event execution.
•    Supports pre-event coordination meetings, planning conferences, rehearsals, site surveys, and after-action reviews.
•    Assist the Security Officer with personnel and event security requirements, access control, classification requirements, participant validation, and coordination of security requirements for DoD, interagency, allied/partner, and industry participants.  
•    Investigate and report security incidents, support mitigation strategies, and assist with corrective action documentation.
•    Tracks assigned actions, suspense dates, dependencies, and unresolved issues; elevates significant concerns to the appropriate leadership or staff lead.
•    Manage permissions and information-sharing requirements across multiple enclaves for government, military, allied/partner, and industry participants while maintaining appropriate classification and need-to-know controls.  Support the division’s Knowledge Management program, including SharePoint and Microsoft Teams administration, information organization, and metadata.  In charge of email distribution list updating, recall cards.
•    Proven ability to communicate effectively; verbally, visually, and in written correspondence to senior leaders. 
•    Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a high tempo, operations and planning team. 
•    Additional duties that align with security and IT event support may be assigned during the contract period of performance. 

Requirements: I have already done that or have it!

•    2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years’ experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
•    Clearance: Possess and maintain an active TS/SCI Security Clearance or higher.
•    Foreign Disclosure Representative (FDR): specialized national security and defense position tasked with the governance, processing, and evaluation of information-sharing initiatives with foreign governments and multinational partners. The position requires a high degree of analytical skill to evaluate generated products—including documents, presentations, and reports—to verify proper releasability and correct paragraph portion markings in compliance with source materials and established Security Classification Guides (SCGs).
•    ETMS2: Division’s primary ETMS2 SME, managing tasker coordination, tracking, routing, suspense management, and providing guidance to personnel on ETMS2 processes and requirements.  Coordinating with leadership on taskers that apply to JWED ensuring deadlines are met and required documents are consolidated and uploaded on portal.  
•    Technical Support: Assist with planning and coordinating technical requirements for exercises, experiments, and events across multiple network enclaves, including development and maintenance of deployable network capabilities and equipment.  Manage AV systems requirements in the various conference rooms we use.  
•    Removable Media Custodian (RMC): Serve as an authorized RMC responsible for reviewing, coordinating, and executing approved data transfers between network enclaves while ensuring proper classification handling and preventing data spillage.  Maintain monthly logs and upload them on JWICS portal.
•    Government Purchase Card / Procurement Support: Research requirements, identify appropriate products and vendors, prepare required documentation, route purchases for approval, and coordinate receipt and accountability of non-network equipment and supplies.  
•    Event & Project Coordination: Coordinate schedules, facilities, logistics, technical requirements, access, equipment, and administrative support throughout the planning and execution lifecycle of major events.
•    Proficiency with common office productivity and collaboration tools.

Bonus Points/ Preferred Requirements:

•    3 years of relevant experience in military security operations, event planning, or a related operational field with Bachelors or High School Diploma with 7 years relevant experience. 
•    Prior Joint Staff or Combatant Command experience.
•    Experience with military planning processes and incident management framework.
•    Ability to coordinate across multiple functional organizations under time-sensitive conditions.

Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
