Job Description
Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is looking for a Concept Developer to support the Joint Staff J7(JS J-7), Futures and Concepts Division (FCD) Suffolk, VA Joint Staff Complex. Support FCD as a Concept Developer in support of Concepts of Operation (CONOPS) for the Joint Warfighting Concept (JWC) including application during Joint wargaming and experimentation.
Essential Job Responsibilities
• Provide subject matter expertise on developing Future Concepts at the Joint Staff or Combatant Command levels.
• Provide warfighting domain subject matter expertise and be able to fuse that with the latest intelligence products and futures projections.
• Provide subject matter expertise to operationalize the JWC through the development of concepts based on futures projections, intelligence assessments, and wargaming experimentation.
• Advise senior military and government personnel throughout the Joint Staff on methods to develop Future Concepts in support of the JWC.
• Be an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, and have experience briefing at the senior military and government civilian levels.
• Be able to work in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) daily.
• Travel to support senior level briefings, conferences, working groups, and wargames as required.
• Bring current knowledge, background, and experience as a senior military planner at the Joint, Combatant Command, or Service level.
• Apply extensive technical, wargfighting domain or AOR-specific expertise and possess full knowledge of other related disciplines.
Minimum Qualifications
- 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance
- Be a graduate of a senior military planning school, such as JAWS, SAMS, MAWS, SAW or equivalent planner courses; or have two or more years’ experience as an operational planner.
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and experience briefing at the senior military and government civilian levels.
