Summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries – Technical Solutions Division (HII-TSD) is currently seeking a Part-Time Senior Operations Lead to support United States Africa Command (USAFRICOM) that will be working remotely.  The Senior Operations Lead will work closely with USAFRICOM and its component commands and will work directly with the HII Program Manager to ensure on-time delivery of all tasks and deliverables while complying with Task Order (TO) scope and remaining within the approved budget. 

What you will be doing

  • Provide day-to-day oversight for C5ISR operations and act as the liaison during information exchanges between operations, maintenance, and logistics personnel
  • Provide oversight of efforts under the TO and coordinate with Government personnel and Government agencies/departments to ensure that USAFRICOM C5ISR mission objectives are met from an operational perspective under the TO
  • Coordinate with appropriate Government personnel to ensure the release and acceptance of all information, so it complies with the appropriate security controls and protections based on classification, technological progress, and other considerations
  • Be onsite at USAFRICOM in Stuttgart, Germany and travel to other CONUS and OCONUS locations
  • Serve as the HII’s primary customer point of contact for TO-related activities and support
  • Manage relationships and expectations of the USAFRICOM client, other industry mission-partners, and supporting contractor personnel
  • Evaluate the progression of project milestones, budget, and any necessary TO modifications to ensure mission success, service quality, and schedule/budget compliance
  • Regularly engage with key government client stakeholders
  • Responsible for TO deliverables such as monthly status reports

What to bring with you

  • 6 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant progressive experience.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in operations management within major commands and the military intelligence community
  • Minimum of three years’ experience working with ISR technologies, military operations, and the intelligence life cycle
  • Minimum of three years’ experience managing operations, directing personnel, ensuring compliance with regulations within DoD agencies;
  • Must meet medical and dental readiness requirements
  • Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down multiple business and technology organizations
  • Clearance:  Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI

Bonus Points For

  • Five or more years’ experience in operations management within major commands and the military intelligence community;
  • Five or more years’ experience working with ISR technologies, military operations, and the intelligence life cycle;
  • Five or more years’ experience managing operations, directing personnel, ensuring compliance with regulations within DoD agencies;
  • Experience building coalitions internally and with other Federal agencies or organizations within the intelligence community to achieve common goals;
  • Experience and working knowledge of Status of Forces Agreements (SOFA) requirements, DOCPER regulations, and processes within AFRICOM AORs.  Similar experience in the EUCOM or CENTCOM AOR will be considered if all other Minimum Qualifications are met;
  • A current Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from Project Management Institute (PMI) or Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level III Program Management certification;
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence;
  • Build and maintain relationships by engaging business leaders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus and achieve objectives;
  • Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands;
  • Demonstrated communication skills; both written and oral with technical and non-technical staff, all levels of management;

Physical Requirements

May be required to visit job site in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level.
