HII - Technical Solutions Division (HII-TSD) is seeking an Information Systems Analyst in the award winning (Awarded top team, 3 of the past 4 years) Cross Domain Support Element (CDSE)/Coalition Secure Network Integration (CSNI) office at Scott AFB, IL. 


This person will support HQ Cyberspace Capabilities Center by providing IA technical Analys(CDis to the Coalition Secure Network Integration (CSNI) office which includes the Air Force Cross Domain Support Element SE). This office is the war fighter's advocate for information sharing across multiple security domains. Customers include Air Force Major Commands and six Combatant Commands.

What you will do

  • Determining the suitability of the CDS components and/or systems in relation to installation, modification, relocation, and/or removal.
  • Maintain the current Access DB.  This task will require some level of VBS (Visual Basic Script) coding proficiency.
  • Either transfer or re-build existing Access DB (to include all existing functions) to a Microsoft SQL Server DB - this will require SQL server proficiency.
  • Maintain the SQL back end and web-based front end.
  • Periodically develop DB queries and generate reports to support data analysis activities/data calls as Govt directs.
  • Further develop the SQL database as new needs are realized.
  • Performing analytical studies in support of complex mission-critical CDS systems and deliver draft technical documents, reports, briefings, and other correspondence to the government.
  • Reviewing network designs and systems engineering data to ensure compliance with Joint DoD, and AF network operations policies; CDS, Communications Security (COMSEC), Emissions Security (EMSEC) and other security policies to include IA guidance specific to each system.
  • Conducting extensive reviews of information technology documentation including CDS Appendices, CDS Validation Approval Requests, system topologies, site-based security assessment (SBSA) (previously known as security test and evaluation (ST&E)) plans and reports.
  • Providing technical and analytical advice and support to coalition and cross domain customers through email, telephonic, video teleconference (VTC) and face-to-face interaction with program managers, system engineers and site representatives.
  • Providing adhoc reports and briefings with information such as metrics, meeting minutes, inputs for Joint Approval Boards, and updated status of Operational CDS. The government COR will outline the adhoc requirements and specify deliverable with the contractor.
  • Initiating and maintaining CDS ticket information in the Microsoft Access CDSE database by providing status updates and CDS ticket revisions as they occur.
  • Develop and submit recommended policy directives, instructions, manuals, standards, strategies, visions, mission statements, goals and objectives as they apply to architectures, cross domain solutions (CDS) networks, systems, and devices that support information sharing with coalition partners. Supports certification and accreditation (C&A) of CDS by ensuring documents comply with National, DoD, and AF directives, instructions, etc.
  • Coordinate with Authorizing Officials (AOs), PMOs, user reps, and system owners to maintain Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages, conduct risk and vulnerability assessments, and perform other IA support duties.
  • Evaluate system security architectures for Category I and/or II vulnerabilities, validates proper use of DoD/AF IA controls, and recommend fixes.
  • Aggregate, validate and insert coalition and secure networking requirements into Air Force and Joint capabilities requirements processes.
  • Provide technical expertise to the Air Force voting member at coalition and secure networking forums such as the Defense Security/Cybersecurity Authorization Working Group (DSAWG), the Cross Domain Solution Assessment Panel (CDSAP), and the Cross-Domain Technical Advisory Board (CDTAB).
  • Travel Requirements: Travel between Scott AFB, IL and non-local facilities as required. The travel required under this task order may include CONUS/OCONUS travel.

What you must have

  • Education: BA or BS or four years of technical experience may be substituted for education requirements.
  • Four years professional experience in analyzing and defining information security requirements and solutions.
  • Experience with National, DoD, and AF Information Assurance (IA) policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Certification: CompTIA Security+, DoD 8570.1 IAM Level I
  • Clearance: Must possess an active SECRET security clearance.
  • Knowledge and Experience in the following areas is required:
    • Security Engineering
    • Risk Assessments
    • Network Architectures
    • Visual Basic Script (VBS) coding proficiency
    • SQL Server proficiency
    • MS Access Database proficiency
  • Proficient in solving computer technology problems.
  • Effective at training technicians and personnel who lack Information Technology experience.
  • Results- oriented and an accomplished information technology professional with demonstrated success in delivering highly innovative technical solutions.
