Job Description

*This position is contingent upon proposal award.

HII - TSD is currently seeking an Subject Matter Expert / Training Rep 2 to work at a government site on our Naval Education Training Center (NETC) Ready Relevant Learning Support training curriculum program.


Essential Job Responsibilities

Designs and delivers programs to train all levels of personnel. Develops tests and visual aids, conducts training classes, and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. Keeps abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques. Develops in-house programs and practices to identify developmental needs, including preparing personnel for more responsible positions and increasing effectiveness in present assignments. May evaluate and/or oversee contractors or vendors to develop and/or administer training programs. May be responsible for development of e-learning programs.

• Provide subject matter expertise for analysis and review of training curriculum  provided by Naval Aviation Warfare Command Training Support Detachment (NAWC TSD)
• Verify and ensure the technical and operational accuracy of the subject content and the treatment of content in materials chosen or produced for the project. 
• Consider the relationship of the subject undergoing development to other subjects in the program, making recommendations to enhance the situation. 
• Point out elements in the content that may be difficult, confusing or that may be a likely area of trouble. 
• Advise how long it takes to produce particular segments, what the better information sources are, and which techniques in resource books are good. 
• Maintain a fresh, broad, and imaginative view of the subject and its applications. 
• Ensure project work products and deliverables are developed in accordance with organizational standard processes
• Minimum travel expected


Minimum Qualifications
  • 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.
  • The work requires knowledge of learning theory and the principles, methods, practices and techniques of one or more specialties of the instructional systems field.
  • The work requires experience with the Instructional Systems Development (ISD) model in developing new and/or revised instructional materials.
  • The work may require knowledge of one or more subjects or occupations in which educational or training instruction is provided.
  • Experience or related experience performing training system analysis and design.
  • Demonstrated practical experience in a specialty area, and sufficient related experience to qualify as a subject matter expert is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.


Preferred Requirements
  • Experience using the NETC End-to-End (E2E) process

  • Understanding of the NETC Authoring Instructional Materials (AIM) toolset

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent  and training in specific occupational specialties related to the subject matter of Naval training

Physical Requirements
May require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders, standing for extended periods, and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
