Job Description

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Mission Technologies Warfare Systems partners with the DoD and defense innovation ecosystem to rapidly acquire and field critical and emerging technologies, particularly integrated communications, networking, and Systems-of-Systems (SoS) technologies, to enhance national security and warfighter capabilities. Through a multiagency contracting approach, the Collaborative Operations for Battlespace Resilient Architecture (COBRA) initiative focuses on advancing these technologies to achieve multi-domain battlespace integration and resilient command and control. This includes a broad range of services such as systems engineering, cybersecurity, operational integration, and data analytics, all aimed at modernizing communications and ensuring seamless information exchange for the DoD and its allies.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Directs and conducts T&E activities to verify system performance (including security) of developed capability variants. Documents updates and refinements to the initial equipment and security architecture as the design has matured. Develops tests and validation plans for systems and components. Performs lab tests to validate components from a performance and product quality perspective. Identifies and troubleshoots hardware and software issues. Validates and implements product solutions and documents findings in technical reports. Performs development and documentation of improved test methodologies. Supports the development and implementation of Test Plans conducted at Government test facilities to include the security test and validation approach, which is often jointly performed by the contractor and US Government. Applies knowledge of T&E processes to assist in design, planning, execution, analysis, and reporting of T&E efforts to assess the performance of modified systems, subsystems, and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience. 
- Ability to analyze system requirements and develop engineering specifications
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across engineering lifecycle phases
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in technical documentation

Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance.

Preferred Requirements

Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools like MagicDraw or Cameo
- Prior experience working with military or aerospace platforms
- Master’s degree in a technical discipline is a plus

Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
