Summary
This Logistician shall manage end-to-end logistics, focusing on efficient goods flow, inventory control via Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (Navy ERP), and material handling. Responsibilities include procurement, warehousing, transportation, and preparing installation kits for ship alterations. The position requires strong logistics experience, the ability to operate heavy equipment, and a focus on process improvement and customer satisfaction. This is a full-time position, located in San Diego, CA.
What You Will Do

Controls the efficient flow of goods, services, and information from origin to customer placement.

Ensures customer service and time objectives are met within financial constraints.

Executes and continuously improves standard logistics processes (replenishment, data interchange, demand management, etc.).

Builds relationships with strategic customers through logistics initiatives.

Integrates learning from various sources to enhance competitive position.

Manage inventory in ERP, track assets.

Move materials, operate heavy equipment.

Source, receive, ship materials.

Assemble and package installation kits.

Utilize Navy ERP for orders.
Experience You Must Have
-
6 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; 4 years relevant experience with a Master's degree in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Must have experience coordinating inventory management, warehousing, and transportation activities located at Contractor’s facilities. Travels to various vendor or local Government locations to pick up or deliver materials.

Must be able to support a variety of logistical functions, including sourcing, receiving, and purchasing.

Must be able to provide support for equipment and material shipping, receiving, and storage at the Shipyard or warehouse. Move material in and out of the Contractor’s facilities to local Government locations such as the shipyard. The operation of Weight Handling Equipment (pallet jack, forklift, overhead crane) is required.

Must having experience supporting crating, palletizing, strapping, chain binding, or rigging heavy equipment for movement by pallet jack, forklift, crane, or truck.

Must have experience providing installation kitting support by reviewing installation drawings to establish material list, work with planning yard to establish what Government is responsible for, and execute procurements per requirements.

Perform required packaging, kitting, and auditing of Fleet Modernization Planning (FMP) and SCN installation kits for field change improvements and ship alterations.

Must have experience maintaining the supply system and placing shipping orders using Navy supply system software, such as Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).

Must have experience with inventory management and control in ERP and provide inventory management support to include location and condition codes. Maintain and control inventory and accountability of assets including trailers, forklifts, and vehicles.
