Summary
HII Mission Technologies is seeking an experienced Electromagnetic Warfare (EMW) Product Trainer to support Surface Combat Systems Training Command Detachment, Southwest (SCSTC Det SW). In this role, you will serve as an EMW subject matter expert providing advanced classroom, laboratory, and shipboard instruction to U.S. Navy sailors who operate and maintain shipboard EMW systems. Your expertise will directly enhance fleet operational readiness by guiding operators and technicians in tactical and operational employment, system configuration, troubleshooting, and mission execution.
You will instruct on systems including the Joint Tactical Terminal (JTT) and the AN/SLQ‑32(V) family, while supporting embedded training environments such as BEWT, SEWTT, ACTS, BFTT, and ATD. This position also serves as a resource within the training team, providing mentorship to junior instructors and ensuring all training aligns with fleet tactical requirements and Navy training standards. #LI-MJ1
What you will do
- Deliver advanced Electromagnetic Warfare (EMW) instruction in classroom, laboratory, and shipboard environments
- Train operators and technicians on the tactical and operational employment of the AN/SLQ‑32(V) system family and Joint Tactical Terminal (JTT)
- Conduct hands‑on instruction using embedded training systems including BEWT I/II, SEWTT, ACTS, BFTT, and ATD
- Guide students in system configuration, threat recognition, and tactical decision‑making
- Provide training in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and fault isolation to enhance technical proficiency
- Mentor junior instructors and support curriculum development, training materials, and instructional best practices
- Coordinate with Fleet Readiness Coordinators and ship’s force to plan and execute EMW training events
- Conduct shipboard training as part of a mobile training team, including underway evolutions as required
- Maintain training documentation, assessments, and post‑event reports
- Ensure all training meets Navy standards, safety requirements, and operational procedures
- Travel to support fleet training events and shipboard evolutions
What you must have
Required Education & Experience (one of the following)
- 6 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 4 years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree in a related field
- High School Diploma/equivalent and 10 years of relevant experience
Required Operational Experience
- Experience as a Cryptologic Technician Technical (CTT) or equivalent EMW operational background
- Experience with sea duty supporting shipboard Electromagnetic Warfare operations
- Experience deploying overseas in support of operational fleet missions
- Demonstrated experience training, instructing, or mentoring sailors in EMW systems or operations
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Working knowledge of the AN/SLQ‑32(V) system family and Joint Tactical Terminal (JTT)
- Experience with embedded training systems including BEWT I/II, SEWTT, ACTS, BFTT, or ATD
- Ability to perform system troubleshooting, diagnostics, and fault isolation in EMW environments
- Ability to lead or support small training teams and operate independently in shipboard environments
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Required Credentials
- U.S. Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance to start
Preferred Qualifications
- Navy Master Training Specialist (MTS) certification
- Military Instructor Qualification (NEC 9502)
- Experience supporting Surface Combat Systems Training Command (SCSTC)
- Operational experience with AN/SLQ‑32(V)6 SEWIP Block II/III
- Knowledge of C5ISR systems integration on surface combatants
- Familiarity with Aegis or SSDS Combat System integration with EMW capabilities
- Experience supporting fleet modernization or training system upgrades
- Current or active DoD clearance preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
- Must be able to climb ladders and navigate shipboard compartments.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and elevated platforms onboard ships.
- Capable of operating in shipboard environments including high noise, temperature fluctuations, and underway conditions.
