Summary
Join HII and help keep the world's most powerful Navy afloat. We're looking for a Project Manager for our Surface Engineering Maintenance Assist Team (SEMAT) in San Diego, CA. In this role, you will lead a team that performs crucial maintenance on Combat Systems equipment for ships in the Pacific Fleet.
What You Will Do
- Lead the team conducting maintenance on Combat Systems equipment onboard USN ships located in the Pacific Fleet.
- Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team (USN shipboard leadership and Combat Systems Port Engineers), and line management.
- Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares daily/weekly/monthly status reports.
- Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
- Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients (USN shipboard leadership and Combat Systems Port Engineers).
What You Must Have
- 4 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 2 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years relevant progressive experience.
- Must have at least 8 years of direct experience working on Combat Systems equipment onboard USN ships with troubleshooting and repair of single and multi-mode connectors and cables.
- Must have at least 6 years experience in coordinating maintenance onboard USN ships with waterfront maintenance teams.
- Must have troubleshooting experience with USN shipboard antennas, interior and exterior communications, audio and visual equipment, cable installation, and MCT/cableway maintenance.
- Must have a current, valid DoD Secret security clearance or higher.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain base and ship access.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Preferred: Bonus Points For
- Fiber and Copper wire testing and termination certifications and QCI certification.
Physical Requirements
May be required to visit job site in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level.
