Job Description

Location: San Diego, CA, San Antonio, TX, or Charleston SC, but willing to consider other candidates.

Cyber Electronics Warfare & Space (CEWS) is hiring a RedHat Linux Administrator to assist in  providing Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO) analytics across U.S. Navy networks to achieve detection-in-depth for maritime forces afloat and ashore. 

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Perform as the RedHat Linux administrator
  • Install, configure, maintain Linux/RedHat/Ubuntu 
  • Implement backup, restore, and recovery procedures.
  • Perform and verify backups
  • Restore files and manage user accounts 
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems.
  • Collaborate with and actively learn from senior level administrators 
  • Interface with other teams to solve problems.
  • Coordinate with Cyber Security resources to ensure the system security posture
  • Participate in a security control assessments
  • Create and implement DISA STIGs, POA&Ms and the ATO process.
  • Implement and document security standards.
     

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2-6 years relevant experience
  • Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) experience 
  • Linux virtual manchines (VM) and virtual appliances experience
  • Patching experience 
  • Ansible experience
  • Active Directory (AD) integration using Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)
  • Knowledge of Security best practices (STIGS)
  • Automation for VM deployments
  • Knowledge and experience with general command line, usage and syntax.
  • Use of sudo and handling limited root user tasks.
  • Good understanding of permissions and user management.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Individuals must have an active Secret clearance with SSBI investigation in DISS.
  • Individuals will also be required to obtain CompTIA Security + Certification within six months of roll-on.
     

Preferred Requirements

  • Deployed (RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) on Hyper-V and/or Azure Stack HCI
  • Experience with Hyperconverged infra (HCI: S2D,Nutanix,VSAN)
  • Apply hardening techniques and RHEL STIGs. 
  • Apply RHEL Patches on monthly basis to maintain strong security posture
     

Physical Requirements

Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the Systems Analyst discipline.
