Summary

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer to develop and field world-class aircraft survivability systems against continually evolving threats for PM Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE).  ASE is an array of electronic devices, systems, and countermeasures designed to reduce an aircraft’s susceptibility and vulnerability to threats.  Selected candidate will design, develop, document, test and debug applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Then determine computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. to ensure software standards are met. #LI-MJ1

What you will do

  • Perform requirements analysis, design, code, unit test, and integration test for systems to detect, alert, and mitigate aircraft threats
  • Lead and mentor the team on DevSecOps, PM ASE Software Development Process, industry best practices, lessons learned, and the US Army’s Airworthiness Release (AWR) Process

  • Develop, compile, and review Software Design Review (SDR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), Test Readiness Review (TRR), Formal Qualification Review (FQR), and other deliverables

  • Develop systems to perform Formal Qualification Tests (FQT), System Integration Tests (SIT), System Performance Tests (SPT) and Design Verification Tests (DVT)

  • Develop, install, configure, and maintain the Software Development Environment

  • Use Agile and daily SCRUM meetings to track progress and report issues

  • Use Change Requests (CR), Configuration Control Boards (CCB), and software repositories for Configuration Management (CM)

  • Brief program status and technical requirements to senior leadership, stakeholders, and team members

What you must have

  • Must have 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field
  • display attention to details and ability to follow processes and procedures
  • Must have experience developing software in C++
  • Must have experience working with Agile, SCRUM, and DevSecOps
  • Must have experience with secure coding and integrating cyber security into the Software Development Process
  • Must have excellent documentation and communications skills to include code comments, software designs, git commits, merge requests, and API documentation
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must have great verbal and written communication skills to present technical information to clients, stakeholders, and team members
  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret security clearance, start date contingent upon obtaining an interim DoD Secret security
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Requirements

  • Current or active DoD Secret security clearance or higher preferred. 
  • Experience with git, Gitlab, and Confluence
  • Experience with Modular Open Source Architecture (MOSA)
  • Experience with Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE)

Physical Requirements

Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements Software Engineer family.  This position is in an office with lab environment. Lifting and moving materials may be required.
