Summary

HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a Security Specialist at Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany. The selected person will provide comprehensive physical security, force protection, and multi‑disciplinary security support to the USAFE‑AFAFRICA A4S staff. This role delivers subject matter expertise and administrative support for planning, coordinating, and overseeing security operations across the USAFE‑AFAFRICA AOR. The position works with Defense Force Commanders and Antiterrorism Officers at main operating bases, expeditionary wings, and Joint Task Force units to identify security requirements and develop force protection solutions in a dynamic operational environment. The contractor conducts analytical, planning, advisory, and evaluative work to develop and implement policies, procedures, training, and standards that safeguard information, personnel, property, facilities, and operations from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, vandalism, espionage, sabotage, or loss.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and update Air Force instructions, manuals, policy directives, forms, USAFE supplements, GENADMIN, PLANORD, OPORD, TASKORD, Security Classification Guides (SCG), Program Protection Plans, and Security Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Review and provide editorial comments for doctrine, studies, and reports generated by NATO, USEUCOM, USAFRICOM, HQ USAF, CJCS, DoD, and other organizations/agencies
  • Manage tracking systems, programs of record, and repositories associated with USEUCOM/USAFRICOM Areas of Operation
  • Provide classification reviews of inbound and outbound correspondence
  • Provide comprehensive physical security, force protection, and multi-disciplinary security support services to the USAFE-AFAFRICA A4S staff in support of all applicable USG and DoD programs and policies
  • Develop Air Component Support Plan (ACSP) to supplement direct tasking from USEUCOM/USAFRICOM
  • Provide expertise in implementing command force protection guidance through the Joint Risk Assessment Management Program (JRAMP)
  • Assess installations, Forward Operating Locations (FOL), Contingency Locations (CL), and Cooperative Security Locations (CSL) to determine force protection requirements and policy compliance
  • Coordinate force protection processes, assessments, and activities across the Command on behalf of HQ USAFE-AFAFRICA
  • Formulate force protection procedures and policies based on unique command and operational needs
  • Plan and organize security forces employment and force protection activities during operations, exercises, base builds, contingencies, and wartime missions in support of the air component commander
  • Conduct threat assessments, asset criticality/vulnerability assessments, and exercises to assess risk to personnel and resources, and devise risk mitigation strategies
  • Review assessments conducted by NAF, MAJCOM, Air Staff, and Joint Staff agencies
  • Serve as a subject matter expert during exercises and contingencies, supporting the combatant command's Joint Exercise Program (JEP)
  • Develop Training Objectives (TO) and Master Scenario Events List (MSEL) in support of SecDef/CJCS directed command exercises
  • Capture exercise objectives through Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS)
  • Provide program management support including drafting reports, preparing GO level briefings, tracking action items, budget execution, and financial reports
  • Provide recommendations, briefings, and updates to influence Command-level policy development and task execution
  • Provide security support to classified processing areas or secure work areas (CAP/SWA) to include, but not limited to:
    • Exercise delegated access control to CAPs/SWAs
    • Assist in accomplishing end-of-duty day security check to open/close CAPs/SWAs
    • Assist with alarms activity where applicable; setting, testing, coordinating maintenance and updating alarm response letters and other associated administrated support
    • Assist with classified meetings and all associated support requirements to ensure their proper successful execution

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a physical security-related field, preferably with the U.S. Air Force.
  • Must be eligible for Technical Expert Status Accreditation (TESA) as issued by the DOCPER office.
  • Clearance: Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Air Force security policies and procedures.
  • Must travel to various locations within the USAFE-AFAFRICA Area of Responsibility (AOR) in supporting of mission requirementa as required. 

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of recent specialized experience, an associate degree and 7 years of recent specialized experience, a major certification and 7 years of recent specialized experience, or 11 years of recent specialized experience.
  • Have Experience with security systems, including alarm monitoring, electronic access control, and closed caption television.
  • Have proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • Have excellent time management, verbal and written communication, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Possess the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management.
  • Possess demonstrated experience in the areas of people and conflict management with tact and discretion.
  • Be flexible and possess the ability to function in stressful situations.
  • Be a dependable team player with business maturity and enthusiasm.
  • Familiarity with Mission Assurance Security System (MASS).
