Job Description

HII is seeking a Technical Project Manager with experience driving technical excellence in the areas of project leadership, customer management, project execution and delivery. This position also includes supporting HII business growth working with HII management. Candidate must be able to work with our existing customers and support the development of new customers.

 

The successful Technical Project Manager will possess a sense of ownership of the full project lifecycle with these primary duties:

  • Support Multiple Technical Project Execution: Support diverse, multi-disciplinary teams to achieve program objectives on time. Be the key interface to our technical team leads, local customers, and the HII executive team to provide reports and status on projects. Ensure program milestones are achieved and program risk is managed.
  • Business Growth Support: Support the Develop innovative technical concepts and solutions for advanced systems across multiple technical disciplines (hardware, real-time software, signal processing, integration and test) and multiple mission areas. Meet with client decision makers to describe our existing capabilities and to help shape future opportunities. Provide hands on technical and capture leadership during proposals.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Manage IT modernization project costs, schedule, and performance for a diverse set of tasks being performed by staff from multiple technical and non-technical disciplines.
  • Communicate project status to customers and the HII management team.
  • Lead the team and ensure the production and delivery of a wide array of contract deliverables including weekly and monthly project status reports.
  • Interact regularly with HII operating group leads, functional managers, technical staff, and customers.
  • Support a multi-disciplinary, geographically diverse engineering team to include projects with multiple subcontractors.
  • Work closely with the Government customers to maintain and grow our business area.
  • Support meetings with HII management, customers, partners, and others to develop market insight on requirements, acquisition strategy, acquisition timing, and contract vehicle choices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant progressive experience.
  • Relevant B.S. degree in business administration, engineering, engineering management, computer science, or related field from an accredited college/university.
  • Demonstrated leadership and successful execution of small multi-disciplinary technical teams and projects.
  • Current Top Secret/SCI Clearance.
