This opportunity resides with All-Domain Operations (ADO), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. All-Domain Operations comprises multi-domain operations, platforms and logistics, and intelligence operations.

Summary

HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a Military Strategic Communications Specialist to develop and execute comprehensive messaging strategies for leadership and organizational priorities. Bring your industry expertise in creating diverse content- articles, press releases, briefing materials, social media posts, and multimedia products- while coordinating messaging across combatant commands and interagency partners!

 

Your Mission: Provide SME analysis and operational support by reviewing U.S., allies, partners, and adversary available strategic and operational information to inform SPACEFOREUR-AF communications strategies and products!

What you will do

  • Provide public affairs and strategic communications support, developing and implementing a variety of deliverables including articles, public affairs guidance, talking points, photos, related materials, fact sheets, briefing materials, webpages, and draft press releases
  • Support external media engagement efforts for leadership, write and edit articles and social media posts on the client's operations, activities, and investments (OAIs) for distribution on social media sites
  • Develop and coordinate high‑quality messaging products—briefs, graphics, talking points, Q&A documents, read‑ahead packets—and ensure alignment across directorates, CCMDs, and interagency partners.
  • Conduct technical analysis of open-source media, employing artificial intelligence, and other available tools, to identify topics of interest to senior leadership
  • Utilize available media editing tools and concepts to develop multi-media information products supporting the overall public affairs guidance
  • Lead and synchronize information-related planning and messaging for Space Force OAIs, including weekly working groups.
  • As needed, provide public affairs and strategic messaging training to U.S., allies, and partner training audiences
  • Additional duties as assigned or required

What we are looking for

  • 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience
  • Strong writing, editing, and content development skills across multiple formats (articles, press releases, talking points, briefing materials, fact sheets, web content)
  • Demonstrated experience managing external media relations and supporting executive-level communications
  • Proficiency in social media management and content creation for organizational platforms
  • Familiarity conducting media analysis using open-source intelligence (OSINT) techniques
  • Working knowledge of artificial intelligence tools and media monitoring platforms for content analysis
  • Proficiency with multimedia editing software and tools (Adobe Creative Suite, video editing platforms, or similar)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Clearance: Must possess and maintain a Secret clearance, with the continued ability to obtain a TS/SCI

  • Associates plus 7 years of recent specialized experience; or major certification plus 7 years of recent specialize experience; or 11 years of recent specialized experience
  • 7+ years working in U.S military public affairs
  • SME experience editing digital media
  • SME experience utilizing artificial intelligence to review open-source media data
  • Experience developing strategic messaging campaigns, to include employment of metrics to determine effectiveness
  • Experience utilizing digital editing tools to develop effective multi-media messaging campaigns
  • Experience utilizing digital tools to collect and review open-source media
  • Experience working at a Component or Combatant Command level
