Summary

HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a skilled Data Scientist to join our growing team! In this role, you will be the key driver in turning raw data into actionable insights. Your core responsibilities will be to gather, clean, and standardize data from diverse sources- including databases, operational programs, websites, and surveys. You will then design, build, and maintain predictive models to accurately forecast future outcomes and identify emerging trends, continuously optimizing these models for both efficiency and accuracy.

What you will do

  • Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes
  • Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
  • Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns
  • Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms
  • Combine models through ensemble modeling
  • Present information using data visualization techniques
  • Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges
  • Collaborate with engineering and product development teams
  • Creating and generating reports to provide information to stakeholders for decision making
  • Continuously researching and identifying new technologies and methods to stay up to date on best practices
  • Additional duties as assigend or required 

What we are looking for

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience
  • Ability to interface at all-levels of command and leadership on a regular basis
  • Experience in planning, controlling, and executing work in a high volume/paced environment
  • Effective communication skills, and ability to work well in cross functional teams
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel) 
  • Clearance: Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI clearance

Bonus points for...

  • Associates with a minimum of 7 years of recent specialized experience; OR recognized major industry certification with at least 7 years of recent specialized experience; OR a total of 11 years of recent specialized experience without a degree or certification
  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field
  • MS in Data Science or other quantitative field highly desired 
  • Experience in Data Mining 

Physical Requirements

Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements Software Engineer family.
