This opportunity resides with Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Summary

HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a skilled Business Process Analyst responsible for conducting business process stakeholder analysis, gathering and documenting requirements, and developing business use cases and workflow process maps for the development of new business systems and/or enhancements to existing systems in support of a Government security organization, whose mission is to protect our nation's critical assets through enterprise risk management, continuous innovation, and excellence in mission performance and customer service!

 

The Business Process Analyst shall become very knowledgeable in the Government customer’s business workflows and use of applications as well as existing system functionality. Characteristics of a successful candidate include having effective organization, project management, and time management skills; possessing strong analytical and critical thinking skills; possessing good customer-handling skills; and demonstrating effective verbal and written communication skills. What you will do

  • Conduct business process stakeholder analysis to ensure all who are impacted are involved and engaged in process and requirement documentation development  
  • Understand and help the customer create business use cases by capturing high-level requirements for current and future needs associated with current and emerging mission sets  
  • Create workflow process maps and functional requirements documentation (FRD)
  • Validate requirements by cross-referencing them with other stakeholders and maximize adoption
  • Obtain consensus against the requirements prior to creation of process maps, use cases, and FRD documentation
  • Gather requirements from the key stakeholders by using requirement elicitation techniques like brainstorming, requirement workshops, focus groups, and others
  • Engage with working groups to refine and document processes and process flow descriptions, with the goal of ensuring procedures are consistent with clear roles and functions to support non-technical implementation and effective technical requirement overlays
  • Analyze and interpret requirements for their viability against the business objective
  • Gather and document requirements and identify procedural alternatives with process mapping and to include addition of new value-add steps, removing low-value/bottlenecks for the stakeholders to streamline operations
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of systems used by business partners to make recommendations for solutions that focus on business need
  • Partner with customer-designated development resources throughout development and acceptance testing to aid in solution verification, error identification, and getting early feedback regarding the user interface of the output deliverable
  • Work closely, collaboratively and communicate effectively with all members of the project team including government and contractors
  • Additional duties as assigned or required 

What we are looking for

  • 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)  
  • Effective organization, project management, and time management skills with the ability to adhere to project deadlines 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish working relationships with individuals at varying levels within the organization 
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience working with SharePoint
  • Must be willing to meet customer training requirements
  • Clearance: Must possess and maintain a Secret clearance

  • Bachelors or Masters in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Management Systems or related discipline
  • 6+ years of demonstrated business systems/process analyst experience with documenting operational/functional processes to identify requirements for the SDLC phases of design, test, deployment, etc
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to lead/facilitate working sessions 
  • Ability to run stakeholder meetings
  • Knowledge of the Department of Defense (DoD)
