Job Description

HII – Technical Solutions Division (TSD) is currently seeking an Air Sample Collector and Analyzer Operator to work in the Republic of Korea at the following locations: Pier 8, Busan; USAG Humphreys, Pyeongtaek; Camps Walker, Henry and Carroll, Daegu/Waegwan; USAG Yongsan, Seoul; Camps Casey/Hovey, Dongducheon; and Chinhae Naval Station, Jinhae.


The Air Sample Collector and Analyzer Operator monitors air sample collector/sensor suites, responds to hazard alarms, collects air samples, and conducts air sample analysis and provides corrective and preventive maintenance for equipment. 
 

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Monitor air sample collector/sensor suites, respond to hazard alarms, collect air samples, and conduct air sample analysis.
  • Assist in performing maintenance activities as needed on entire air sample collector/sensor, air sample analysis, and force protection sensor suite.
  • This role is mainly executed during the night shift, but can escalate to 24/7 operations at force protection condition (FPCON) Charlie or Delta.
  • This will be on-site, or on-call, depending on FPCON level and intelligence.
  • Assume the applicable level of PPE IAW current FPCON.
  • Manages air sample analysis equipment (and all associated consumables).
  • Manages sensors and all associated consumables.
  • Operate air sample analysis equipment to process air sample and report results to Command and Control Operator on duty.
  • Conducts Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) as necessary on sensor suite and analysis equipment IAW manual and SOPs. Upload and maintain operational and support data in MAXIMO.
  • Able to work independently and with a team to achieve mission success.
  • Willing to support non-standard work hours.
  • Positions require indoor and outdoor work in varying environmental conditions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or HS diploma and 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active US Passport
  • Experience in collecting and handling environment samples
  • Experience performing sample analysis with one (1) or more of these technologies: LFI, ECL, PCR
  • Familiarity with DoD Chain of Custody documentation and procedures
  • Clearance: must possess and maintain a Secret level security clearance
     

Preferred Requirements

  • Two (2) years of experience with a bachelor’s degree. May consider four (4) years’ experience without a degree
  • Decision Support Tool experience
  • Biology and Chemistry Experience
  • Environmental Sample Analysis using LFI, ECL, and PCR
  • Chain of Custody procedural and documentation experience
