Job Description

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a results-driven and dedicated Fleet Sustainment Site Engineering Lead to join our Global Security team. This position will require working onsite in Port Hueneme, CA.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Senior-level leadership ensuring achievement of performance and financial goals for assigned programs.  
  • Lead Global Operations and Sustainment contract from a Government Owned, Contractor Operated facility in Oxnard, California 
  • Ensure adequate and timely staffing of all programs to include professional development of all assigned personnel. Conduct individual performance assessments and successor planning.  
  • Maintain close contact with customers to make requisite and timely adjustments to programs.  
  • Work with all functional departments as required to ensure continued customer satisfaction, compliance with corporate policies and standards, and to maintain high quality and ethical standards.  
  • Develop and guide initiative to improve our value to customers and creates identifiable differentiators amongst our competitors.  
  • Lead people and programs while developing new business opportunities for growth targets and support winning proposals for re-compete efforts.  
  • Support and advise on growth strategy initiatives within HII, maintaining a focus on DOD and USG clientele. 
  • Identify potential customers, analyze their requirements, and tailor strategies to address their needs and challenges. 
  • Provide insights for informed decision-making during pursuits, including competitive assessments and pricing-to-win strategies. 
  • Collaborate with teaming partners and suppliers to enhance bid teams' effectiveness and competitiveness. 
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, providing insights on market trends, competitive intelligence, and strategic opportunities. 
  • Communicate periodic progress, status updates, and risk assessments to senior management.  
  • Personally model HII values of integrity, safety, honesty, engagement, responsibility and performance.  
  • Senior lead for Interface with PMS 420, PEO USC, equipment In-Service Engineering Agencies (ISEA), other government agencies, OEMs, and 3rd party vendors as required; 
  • Experience leading systems engineering activities such as requirements development, integration, verification/testing, and lifecycle management.  
  • Ability to develop and maintain system architecture, technical baselines, interface control documents (ICDs), and technical risk assessments. 
  • Use of SE tools & methodologies (e.g. requirements management, MBSE, configuration control) 
  • Lead and coordinate Integration & Test activities, including readiness reviews, system level test plans, and verification procedures.  

Minimum Qualifications

  • 20+ years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 18+ years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 15+ years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 24 years relevant experience.
  • Top Secret security clearance eligible; Must possess a current Secret security clearance and be a U.S. citizen.
  • Client requirements: Bachelors in marine, system, electrical, mechanical, software or industrial engineering fields or a minimum of 25 years of experience was gained because of in-depth experience and specialized knowledge in the related field. 
  • 15 years of experience with systems engineering of military systems used in a Navy environment.
  • 20 years operations and fleet support experience. 
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience with systems engineering of military systems used in a Navy environment and a minimum ten years of experience with DoD/Navy program and/or project management supporting Industrial and Field Site Operations. 
  • Five (5) years experience project management of personnel and resources.
  • Three (3) years experience with secured, classified facility management and security protocols.
  • Knowledge and experience of CONUS and OCONUS naval ship availability requirements.

Preferred Requirements

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, construction, civil or general engineering related fields.
  • DOD facilities management experience.
  • Littoral Combat Ship Mission Modules or small Unmanned Surface Vessel program support.
  • Experience in support of Mission Package Support Facility (MPSF) and Mission Module Readiness Centers (MMRCs).
  • Prior experience with military shipboard and shore-based systems or naval platforms (especially LCS or similar ship classes).
  • Understanding of LCS Mission Module components, such as SUW, MCM, C5I, mobility platforms, sensors, and software interfaces.  
  • Knowledge of shipboard networks and integration tasks – Mission Package Computing Environment (MPCE) and Mission Vehicle Control Systems (MVCS). 
  • Experience with technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) and corrective action tracking.  
  • Prior experience in providing pier side maintenance, intermediate maintenance, field engineering support, software maintenance support, shipboard fleet representative support, modernization support, installation support, sustainment support, operational support, logistics support with the following:
    • Gun Mission Modules
    • Surface to Surface Mission Modules
    • Support Containers to include BOAs with respective container outfitting kits
    • Common MP Cradles
    • 11M Rigid Inflatable Boats
    • MCM Peculiar Support Equipment
    • MCM Unmanned Surface Vehicles
    • Mine Sweep /Mine Hunter Systems and Payload Delivery Systems
    • Small USVs and Support Equipment
    • MCM Airborne Mine Neutralization and Airborne Lazer Mine Detection Systems
