Job Description
Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a results-driven and dedicated Fleet Sustainment Senior Hull Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) Technician Lead to join our Global Security team. This position will require working onsite in Port Hueneme, CA.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Lead a HM& E team on LCS MM from a Government Owned, Contractor Operated facility in Oxnard, California.
- Communicate periodic progress and status updates to senior management.
- Master understanding of production and processes of HM&E ship systems and equipment.
- Responsible for interfacing with customers and ability to provide work direction to others.
- Develops and uses technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, reports and task or trip reports.
- Personally model HII values of integrity, safety, honesty, engagement, responsibility and performance.
- Provide on-site representation in support of the Program Office as an HM&E Hull Manager for the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) platform.
- Assist the Pacific Fleet (PACFLT) government planning managers in developing availability work packages.
- Provide on-site support for maintenance and modernization, LCS-class issues, Fleet Introduction, maintenance planning and execution, Planning Yard, Participating Acquisition Resource.
- Managers (PARMs) and Configuration Management and Control issues.
- Provide executive stakeholder coordination and LCS expertise in support of Lead Program Manager Representative (PMR).
- Coordinate program issues and concerns with the Regional Maintenance Centers (RMC).
- Assist Program Office in coordinating technical issue resolution and providing liaison between ships, port engineers, Type Commands (TYCOMs), SEA 21, Planning Yards (PYs), PARMs, In Service Engineering Agents (ISEAs), and support activities.
- Assist in design, advance planning, and execution of Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) availabilities.
- Assist in monitoring ship change design, planning and execution.
- Support conduct of engineering investigations and ship checks.
- Assist in tracking, researching, and supporting ILS efforts.
- Assemble data provided by RMCs, Naval Support Activity (NSAs), ships, shipyards, PYs, and other waterfront sources for reports to the Program Office.
- Create executive summaries, charts, graphs, and other products that convey barge availability status, execution status, and updates to issue resolutions.
- Provide technical and management support to resolve planning, design, material, or other issues for ships in availabilities.
- Support end of availability actions, including but not limited to, work package closure activities, and message preparation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 6 years related experience or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years related experience.
- Top Secret security clearance eligible; Must possess a current Secret security clearance.
- Client requirements: 15 years of experience with the Hull, Mechanical, and/or Electrical maintenance and repair of military small boats and craft used in a Naval Environments.
- Bachelors degree in managerial, construction, civil or general engineering fields.
- Three (3) years experience with developing and maintaining Standard Operating Processes and Procedures across all Mission Package Support Facility (MPSF)/Mission Module Readiness Centers (MMRCs) facilities in support of maintenance, embark/debark, modernization, engineering, sustainment, logistics, security, facilities, testing and operations.
- Five (5) years experience project management of personnel and resources.
- Three (3) years experience with secured, classified facility management and security protocols.
Preferred Requirements
- DOD facilities management experience.
- Littoral Combat Ship Mission Modules or small Unmanned Surface Vessel program support.
- Experience in support of Mission Package Support Facility (MPSF) and Mission Module Readiness Centers (MMRCs).
