Responsible for the hands-on supervision, direction, leadership and strategy of the Production Planning and Control function for HII Unmanned Systems (UxS).  The Production Planning & Control manager oversees planning and control of the manufacturing process across UxS sites. Coordinate production operations through efficient use of labor, materials and equipment to execute and realize the production schedule. This role based is in Pocasset MA

  • Develop an appropriate working technical knowledge of our products

  • Manage the Production Planning team – tasks, goals, metrics, career progression and training in accordance with the company’s strategic plans and vision.

  • Plan and implement the overall UxS Production Planning & Control approach

  • Plan, direct and control the supply of material and release of manufacturing work orders

  • Manage the planning inputs such as materials, labor, machines in a master production schedule

  • Coordinate production activities across UxS facilities, including risk management

  • Integral stakeholder and production voice on NPI, TTM, and ECO teams

  • Process owner of S&OP, capacity and manufacturing planning/reporting

  • Strive to attain the highest efficiency in the production system

  • Continuous improvement, simplification, and standardization of processes across sites

  • Working knowledge of Lean tools and practice as it pertains to Production Planning & Control

  • Internal business reporting on key metrics

  • Continually evolve our planning process through data driven decision making

  • Collaboration with key functional areas e.g. mfgeng, eng, production, prog. mgmt., finance, QA

  • Develop and manage the annual Production Planning budget

  • Ensure work environment is in full compliance with all EHS rules and regulations

  • Comply with all HII policies, procedures and requirements

  • Attend professional development and training sessions/seminars

Supervises employees who put together component parts to make assemblies, subassemblies, packaging or completed units.

What we're looking for...

6 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant progressive experience.

Ability to obtain a confidential level clearance. 

This position requires business travel. HII policy requires that all employees must be complete with their COVID vaccination to engage in business travel. #LI-MH1

  • Background in S&OP principals, design, and implementation is highly desired
  • Experience in a DoD manufacturing environment is desirable
  • Exceptional interpersonal and social skills and a great team player is required
  • Positive and professional demeanor with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Lean manufacturing experience is highly desirable
  • Skills in project management a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Flexible to travel (e.g. remote UxS sites) necessary

Physical Requirements

May be required to visit job site in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level.
