Come Join HII! Where Hard Stuff is Done Right!

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Modeling and Simulation Group as a Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Engineer to support our rapidly expanding portfolio of autonomous vessels.  As HII Unmanned Systems continues to push the boundaries of multi-domain autonomy, one of our primary focuses is the architecture of our underwater and surface vehicles. The M&S Engineer will apply knowledge about hydrodynamics, virtual models, and HII’s unmanned vehicles to develop and execute a digital twin modeling and simulation environment.  This will involve integration of vehicle hardware with the simulator and software development to enable a robust virtual testbed for advance autonomy solutions.

Overview: Develops new and/or integrates existing system simulation frameworks, performance models and algorithms, threat models and command and control models. Develops software that simulates behavior of users and systems. Develops, integrates and uses graphical user interfaces and visualization tools. Models operational environments, performs trade studies via computer simulation and provides decision support for alternative architectures. Performs operational analysis and mission effectiveness analysis. May build and design training models.

What you will be doing:

More Detail: Develop, codify, and test virtual models for vehicles, sensors, actuators, and auxilary equipment in a hydrodynamic simulation environment.  Create/enhance virtual worlds for fully integrated mission simulation. Support development and integration of modeling and simulation standards into company processes.  Set-up, perform, and analyze hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) simulations to support various projects and applications in the business. Further develop hardware, software, and model in the loop capabilities with the simulation environment. Assist in the solution of difficult problems involved in areas of assignment. At times, support the development of advanced software including autonomy behaviors, path planning, and flight control.  The duties described herein cover major duties as required. However, this does not exclude the requirement of performing related duties under normal conditions, and other duties directed by supervision.
