This opportunity resides with Uncrewed Systems (UxS), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Uncrewed Systems comprises unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs), unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) and autonomy software.

HII Unmanned Systems is seeking an experienced professional to come join our electrical engineering group! We are looking for an individual to contribute to the development of advanced capabilities for integration into our autonomous systems. System and subsystem design space includes common platform engineering areas, including energy subsystems, navigation subsystems, propulsion subsystems, sensor subsystems, and control subsystems, as well as launch and recovery systems. As an electrical engineer you will be responsible for the participation in product life cycle analysis and the development and management of technical data packages on new and existing designs. Working in a cross functional design team, the candidate will be responsible for bringing designs through first article release, test, integration, delivery to manufacturing, and manufacturing support and improvements.
Responsibilities may include the following:
• Support the design and documentation of electrical system wiring diagrams and cable assemblies for both new development, production, and sustaining efforts.
• Support the manufacturing team on production issues relating to hardware, wiring, cabling, drawings, or other design aspects.
• Demonstrate proficiency with industry design tools such as OrCAD.
• Support PC board layout and electrical hardware design implementation.
• Work as part of a multi-discipline team. Communicate designs and issues to each corresponding department.
• Assist in the design of electrical & electronics systems, firmware coding and circuit simulation.
• Assist in the design and fabrication of test fixtures and prototype designs.
• Develop electrical test procedures for new circuit boards and various types of assemblies and subassemblies.
• Maintains accurate bills of materials, update design documents, process sheets and incorporates Engineering Changes.
• Assist in electrical and electronics equivalent components research to resolve manufacturer or material shortages.
• Support both Sales and Marketing Departments with engineering special quotes.
• Assist in the development of engineering estimates and proposals
• Perform project management duties as assigned.
• Travel to offsite and possibly overseas locations, as required.
• Assist in updating department policies, processes and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
What you will be doing!!
What we are looking for..
- 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a goverment clearance

Bonus Points for....
• Experience with OrCAD for electrical designs
• Experience working in multi-disciplinary product development teams, including technical leadership of small projects
• Experience in circuit card assembly design process, including requirements reviews, prototyping, manufacturability reviews, supportability reviews, and production readiness reviews
• Experience architecting platform electrical and power systems.
• Experience working with cybersecurity products
• Familiar with marine systems that include hardware and software components developed and produced for DoD use
• Demonstrates attention to detail and develops and maintains accurate documentation.
