This opportunity resides with Uncrewed Systems (UxS), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Uncrewed Systems comprises unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs), unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) and autonomy software.

Electrical Test Technician – Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct continuity, resistance and insulation testing on cable assemblies and CCA products
  • Perform visual and mechanical inspections of cables, connectors, crimps, shielding, and terminations
  • Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, harness drawings, and test procedures
  • Set up, operate, and maintain cable test equipment (e.g., cable analyzers, multimeters)
  • Verify proper pinouts, shielding integrity, and connector orientation
  • Identify and troubleshoot faults such as opens, shorts, miswires, and intermittent connections
  • Document test results, nonconformances, and rework actions in quality systems
  • Work with QA and engineering to support root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with IPC-620 and other applicable workmanship standards
  • Assist in developing and improving test procedures and fixtures
  • Perform first article inspections (FAI) and in-process inspections
  • Maintain calibration awareness and proper handling of test equipment

What you will be doing..

Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas. Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems. Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format. Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions. Exclude technicians working in production or quality assurance.

What we are looking for..

  • Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 3 years of related experience; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years related experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a goverment clearance #LI-MH1

Physical Requirements

Most work is performed aboard ships or in industrial conditions. Shop, shipboard, warehouse, industrial environment. May be exposed to fumes and irritants including welding/burning fumes, paints, oils, greases and various cleaning solutions and solvents, noise, high heat and humidity hazards while wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
