Summary
HII Mission Technologies is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support the Air National Guard (ANG) F-16 Mission Tactics Trainer (MTT) simulators in Mesa, AZ. This role is essential in ensuring cybersecurity compliance, risk management, and accreditation in alignment with Air Force policies and regulations.
The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF), cybersecurity documentation, and best practices. You will work collaboratively with a team to execute security measures, manage compliance, and support ongoing cybersecurity operations.

What you will do
- Participate in cybersecurity planning, management, and execution of RMF requirements at the Mesa, AZ site.
- Develop and maintain a risk management strategy, including policy enforcement, security awareness training, assessments, monitoring, authorization, implementation, and remediation.
- Ensure lifecycle cybersecurity risk management of Air Force information systems and evaluate the security posture of F-16 MTT IT assets.
- Mitigate residual security risks through Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M) and align processes with DoDI 8510.01 and the RMF security authorization package for USAF IT.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, while developing, reviewing, and completing interconnectivity requirement documents.
- Serve as the primary ISSO for the F-16 MTT simulators, overseeing cybersecurity operations and compliance.
- Assist in security configuration/STIG validation of operating systems and network devices.
- Conduct audit reviews to ensure systems are compliant with accreditation requirements.
- Perform vulnerability scanning and review reports from ACAS/Nessus.
- Validate data backup procedures to align with continuous monitoring policies.
- Investigate security incidents by reviewing audit logs in Splunk and identifying suspicious activity.
- Support the authoring and editing of cybersecurity-related documents, such as ISA, SLA, and CIE.
- Perform other cybersecurity duties as assigned.
What you must have
Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or

Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, or
-
PhD or Juris Doctorate (0 years of experience required), or
- Assosciates Degree with 7+ years of relevant experinece, or
-
High School Diploma or equivalent with 9+ years of relevant experience.
Technical & Cybersecurity Expertise
-
Certified Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II.
-
Strong knowledge of NIST, RMF, and/or DoD security requirements and guidelines.

Experience in risk assessment, security incident management, and security awareness training.

Knowledge of Windows/Linux operating systems.
Security & Compliance

Must be a U.S. citizen.

Currnet or active DoD Secret Security Clearance (must be able to maintain clearance).
Preferred Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with DoD contracts.
