Description

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) is looking for a talented Software Development Analyst 2 to join our team in Philadelphia, PA. As a Software Development Analyst, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications and systems that meet the needs of our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

This is a hybrid position and requires to be in the office in Philadelphia, PA two days a weeks.

What You Will Do

  • Researches, designs, develops, and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software.
  • Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards.
  • Evaluates interface between hardware and software, operational requirements, and characteristics of overall system.
  • Documents testing and maintenance of system corrections.
  • Provide software development support via various software languages (e.g. PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and SQL) to maintain, update, and perform services on the Submarine Maintenance Monitoring Information System (SMMIS) software. Efforts include: bug fixes, implementation of new features, keeping JIRA up to date with current progress, and support System Engineering Process (SEP) to assist NSWCPD in the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of software based systems, including assisting with life-cycle management.
  •  Utilize software configuration control processes to include Software Requirements Documents (SRD), Validation and Verification checklists (V&V), and testing plans. 

What You Must Have

  • 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen 
  • Candidate must have an active Secret Clearance 
  • Candidate must have HTML / Java Script experience 
  • Candidate must have the ability to understand and document current business procedures and identify areas for improvement 
  • Candidate must have the ability to deliver clear and concise business process documentation
  • Candidate must have the ability to quickly grasp complex concepts
  • Candidate must have basic familiarity with system operations, remote desktops, and file transfers tools
  • Candidate must have Strong proficiency in Excel
  • Candidate must have PHP Core Functions experience 

Bonus Points For Having!

  • Proficiency in using JIRA for project management and issue tracking.
  • Expertise in JavaScript and HTML for front-end development.
  • Experience in working with Oracle as a backend database.

Physical Requirements

Job performance requires adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the generic systems analyst discipline. Office work environment normally encountered.
