Job Description

HII, Mission Technologies is looking for a motivated individual to fill the role of Manager of Production, Planning & Scheduling for their Panama City, Florida Operations. This position will serve as a lead in the business dedicated to the Prototyping and Production of products that meet or exceed performance for quality, delivery, and cost while driving a continuous improvement culture. The candidate will manage operations-related plans, budgets, policies, and procedures while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance relating to the Production facility.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Attract and retain the prototype and production staff necessary to achieve strategic business objectives and operating goals and manage appropriate distribution of skills and capacity across the organization, and continuously monitor and reconcile head counts within the operating budget.
  • Ensure the prototype and production team adherence to company, business, program and site policies, procedures and defined processes.
  • Coordinate the planning, organization, control, integration and completion of manufacturing program contracts.
  • Accountable for shop performance to targets in Cost, Quality, Schedule, 6S and Continuous Improvement.
  • Contribute to the development strategy and lead strategic initiatives in support of functional and business objectives.
  • Ensure tooling, workplace layouts and staffing are aligned to meet capacity needs.
  • Manage Material Requirements Planning, Resource and Capacity Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, Procurement, Inventory Management, Quality Assurance, and Shop Floor metrics.
  • Support Production Operations through collaboration with cross functional teams, including but not limited to Technicians, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing and Test Engineering, Parts
  • Production Control, Sourcing, Engineering, Human Resources, and Program Management.
  • Engage in proposals involving manufacturing content, estimates and/or concept of operation development.
  • Establish and maintain the Capital Budget.
  • Ensure products meet requirements through the transition from Prototyping to Production.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 12 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field or 9 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Word, and Excel.
  • Solid understanding of 6S, Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma.
  • Self-motivated and driven desire to succeed with minimal direction.
  • Ability to work both in a team and individually.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET level security clearance

Physical Requirements

May be required to visit job site in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level.
