Job Description

HII – Mission Technologies Corp is looking for a Journeyman Systems Engineer who is experienced with the systems engineering process, requirements analysis, system design process, system integration, requirements verification / validation, and Development Test / Operational Test (DT/OT) processes to support development of contract and documentation changes and updates

This individual will apply their knowledge and experience in engineering principles, criteria, and procedures to Air Force systems, subsystems, and equipment procurement activities, post award project/program management tasks, and acquisition programs throughout their life cycles, and support the development of contract and documentation changes and updates in support implementation of Air Force Integrity Programs

This job is located onsite  at Tinker AFB, OK.  Must have a TS/SCI Clearance.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Establish technical milestones for the progress of assigned systems through the total acquisition life cycle
  • Plan, program, coordinate, and control the technical executions of engineering functions to meet program requirements
  • Make formal and informal presentations and prepare technical reports and papers in the technical areas of expertise, and participate in conferences and discussions relating to assigned systems.
  • Support development and review of the full range of documentation and products required by DoDI 5000.02.
  • Assist with execution of the USAF Airworthiness process per MIL-HDBK-516 and the AF Life-Cycle Systems Engineering (LCSE) and Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E) processes as prescribed by AFMCI 63-1201.
  • Support requirements development, allocation, and verification
  • Support review and evaluation of weapon system design, analyses, and verification documentation and reports
  • Gather and develop technical and business data necessary to build and, as required, present program briefs
  • Support program meetings, working groups, and technical and business reviews as neede
  • Apply engineering knowledge and experience to efficiently and effectively accomplish acquisition objectives consistent with DoD 5000.02 policies and procedures.
  • Analyze equipment and software performance deficiencies and make recommendations for corrective actions
  • Support source selections in a technical advisory role as requested.
  • Develop technical engineering programs, plans, and objectives

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Journeyman level must have a minimum of 10 years of relevant DoD experience and an ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Two (2) of these years must be in a special access DoD acquisition program as a sub-system lead engineer within a recognized ACAT I program.
  • Must have no less than two (2) years’ experience in a SAP and/or SCI environment within the last four (4) years.
  • Five (5) years of electrical engineering / avionics engineering experience as a Department of Defense (DoD) civilian or DoD contractor 
  • Top Secret/SCI clearance
  • Familiar with the DoD acquisitions process
  • Experience providing technical management of DoD contractors and be capable of managing the technical execution and evaluation of DoD systems, subsystems, and components during development. 
  • Experience evaluating technical proposals in order to provide advice on the evaluation of technical proposals. 
  • Experience with technical risk management
