Job Description

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a dynamic and driven Project Administrator to join our team in Norfolk, VA (hybrid). As a Project Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting project managers in the execution of the HII project management process and to act as the liaison between project managers and the functional support teams within HII, including Project Control, Subcontract Management, Procurement Analysts, and Contractual Reporting teams. The Project Administrator will also support a variety of projects with the goal of assisting each project team manage their schedule, budget, and reporting requirements. Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Support multiple projects with multiple project managers and project teams across multiple HII contracts
  • Assisting project managers with the development of resource loaded plans of action and milestones (POA&M)
  • Assisting project managers with project cost estimation  
  • Obtaining and distributing authorized charging guidance to project teams 
  • Reviewing and analyzing weekly charges against budgets 
  • Reviewing and analyzing monthly costs against budgets and project plans 
  • Identifying risks and opportunities in the context of project plans 
  • Assisting project managers with maintaining  project plans that support contract deliverables 
  • Tracking funding expenditure against expiration date. 
  • As required, direct and track time card corrections required in support of projects.  
  • Ensuring data quality through control mechanisms  

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
  • Strong use of the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint 
  • Familiarity with basic project management principles 
  • Understanding of accounting principles  
  • Ability to coordinate with dispersed teams 
  • Strong time management and self-direction

  • DelTek CostPoint 
  • IBM Cognos 
  • Atlassian Jira and Confluence 
  • Advanced knowledge of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) Technical Writing 
  • Basic familiarity with Department of Defense funding and accounting rules and requirements
