Summary
Join our Carrier Engineering Maintenance Assist Team (CEMAT) to help make shipboard life and habitability safe for our sailors! Acting as the Production Planning and Scheduler, this position is responsible for developing and maintaining an integrated schedule of all the valve barge work during CVN availabilities. This is a full-time position, located in Norfolk, VA.
What You Will Do

Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.

Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed.

Develops and maintains an integrated schedule of all on the valve barge work during CVN availabilities.

Facilitates monthly reports of work being accomplished to project manager on time for resource meetings with project management and customers.

May assist with other projects as needed.
What You Must Have
- 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
- Must have experience working in a shipyard environment.
- Must have knowledge of the ship repair processes including; planning, scheduling, and budgeting techniques.
- Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of lathe operation, drill press operations, milling machine operations, blueprint reading and layout of projects to be machined.
- Experience training personnel in safe work procedures.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to read and understand shipboard Specs and NAVSEA Standard Items.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Preferred: Bonus Points For
- Experience with The Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) Integrated Management System.
- A current, active DoD security clearance.
