The HII Mission Technologies Information Technology Project Management Office (ITPMO) is seeking a REMOTE Information Systems Project Manager 2 to join our team!  This is a hands-on technical project management position with high visibility and large levels of responsibility. The PM is responsible for providing end-to-end cross-discipline leadership of IT projects ranging from business application and infrastructure implementations, innovative capabilities and solutions, business/policy change initiatives, and more. They are accountable for on-time, on-budget, high-quality delivery, while managing multiple projects with varying levels of business impacts, complexity, and risks.

Responsibilities: I want to and can do that!

•    Project Planning – work closely with project team and business stakeholders to define the approach, activities, and timelines for project execution, leveraging project management best practices; tailor standard project methodologies to define pragmatic approaches for specific initiatives.
•    Project Management – apply modern project management techniques to manage a project, achieving objectives of scope, quality, time, and cost; organize and lead project status and working meetings; prepare progress reports; present to executive steering committee(s); proactively identify and mitigate project risks and issues; manage project changes; develop relationships with key business stakeholders.
•    Project Team Management – hold project teams accountable for project responsibilities and deliverables; proactively ensure that teams are "in sync" in terms of communication, schedules, issues, etc.; develop project teams by promoting empowerment, engagement, and high-quality deliverables; advocate for the team and stakeholders.
•    Process Management and Improvement - champion continuous improvement and adoption of best practices using innovative ideas to increase effectiveness.
•    Change Management – seek to understand change impacts resulting from the project and leads the team in defining and executing change management plans. Proactively encourages cross-functional business involvement in projects, building trusting relationships with business counterparts to ensure alignment and buy-in to business and system solutions.

Requirements: I have already done that or have it!

•    US Citizenship
•    Relevant IT project management experience/education: 2 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field, or 6 years relevant progressive experience with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
•    Technical proficiency with understanding of IT concepts and technologies.
•    Experience leading a variety of different types of IT projects including COTS implementations, system integrations, infrastructure expansion/refreshes, business process re-engineering.
•    Experience using the following PM tools: Confluence, JIRA, MS Project, and MS Visio.
•    Ability to manage projects remotely with team members located throughout the US in different time zones.
•    Strong understanding of Project Management methodologies (Agile, Hybrid & Waterfall).
•    Ability to establish project goals, validate and confirm acceptance, challenge stakeholders, and hold stakeholders accountable.
•    Ability to gather and document project requirements, functional and technical.
•    Ability to take a consultative approach to understand requirements, drill into details, and resolve issues.
•    Ability to facilitate resolution of technical issues. Capable of interpreting technical information and communicating this information to different audiences in a way they can understand.
•    Skilled in building trusted relationships with team members and project stakeholders.
•    Ability to effectively address and resolve conflict.
•    A detail-oriented, driven, and proactive go-do-er with exceptional organization skills.
•    A strong communicator with the ability to pull out and summarize information and tailor communication style and content for a variety of audiences.

Preferred Requirements

•    Experience working through agile transformations and PMO maturity
•    Certifications, such as: PMP, PBA, CSM, ACP, SAFe, Lean Six Sigma

Physical Requirements

Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements Software Engineer family.
