Summary

Located in Norfolk, VA this position is to be the COMNAVAIRLANT Enhanced Quality of Life (EQOL) Project Manager. This position is responsible for day-to-day tasking requirements including reviewing and accepting TYCOM screened Automated Work Requests (AWRs) and coordinating shipboard material condition assessment visits with COMNAVAIRLANT and Ships Force.  

The candidate will manage company technicians, subcontractors and interface with the COMNAVAIRLANT Task Technical Advisor, CVN Maintenance Program Managers (MPMs) and Ships Force. The candidate will finalize schedules to accomplish screened work during CVN CNO and non-CNO availabilities.

What You Will Do

  • Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
  • Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

What You Must Have

  • 6 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant progressive experience.
  • Knowledge of the COMNAVAIRLANT Organization.
  • Experience reviewing government screened Automated Work Requests (AWRs) for acceptance / rejection and the development and execution of work packages.
  • Proficiency with the COMNAVAIRLANT Production Support Database (PSD).
  • Experience working as a Ships Coordinator scheduling and progressing TYCOM screened Automated Work Requests (AWRs) during CVN Planned Incremental Availabilities (PIA) and Maintenance Availabilities.
  • Experience participating in shipboard production meetings with senior shipyard management, ships force department heads, TYCOM and outside activity representatives to progress work and de-conflict scheduling conflicts.
  • Experience performing oversight of safety, fire prevention, and environmental programs to ensure team members adhere to all regulations.
  • Experience with Shipboard troubleshooting, repairing Galley and refrigeration equipment.
  • Experience providing Original Equipment Manufacturer OEM oversight. 
  • Experience supervising Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) working on shipboard auxiliary, electrical systems.
  • Must have thorough understanding of Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Must have experience conducting material condition assessments onboard CVNs to include Carrier Availability Planning (CAPS) visits.
  • Familiarity with the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM).
  • Must be currently qualified as a Quality Control Inspector (QCI).
  • Fluent in the use of precision measuring instruments such as calipers, dial indicators, inside and outside micrometers, and depth micrometers.
  • Knowledge of the Navy supply and 3-M system.  
  • Must have an active confidential clearance or above and be able to maintain base and ship access.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

 

Preferred: Bonus Points For

  • Understanding and experience with HII Fleet Sustainment Quality Management System (QMS). 
  • Qualified as Quality Control Inspector (QCI) through HII Fleet Sustainment. 

Physical Requirements

May be required to visit job site in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level.
