Job Description


HII- Technical Solutions Division delivers professional services to a wide variety of government and commercial customers worldwide to include critical services to our DOD and DOE.
HII - Technical Solutions Division is currently seeking a Quality Analyst for our HII Nuclear, Maritime Operations Team at our Newport News, VA location.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities

Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements. May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality. May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.

 

Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures using statistical quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses. Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards. Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems. Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met. Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications.

Minimum Qualifications

6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.

Candidate must have knowledge of nuclear and radiation safety principles and nuclear operations
Candidate must have experience with root cause analysis, problem identification and resolution.

 

Preferred Requirements

Bachelor of Science Degree is highly desired.

Certifications in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies preferred.

Physical Requirements

Office, industrial or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving of materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one man lift.
